The Dangers Of Offense

Matthew 11:6, Luke 7:23, Luke 17:1-4 God doesn't joke with His children being offended. This topic about offense is worth looking into because offense is an issue Jesus specifically talked about. Offense was something Jesus experienced first hand in His life and ministry. Mark 3:5,6, John 15:25 His ministry success offended some people because He had the crowd. Luke 8:4 His birth offended and rattled a King. Matthew 2:1-15 His wisdom offended some people. Matthew 13:54-57 His miracles offended some people. Mark 12:10-14 His assignment offended some groups of people. John 2:19,20 If you are anything like your Master Jesus Christ, expect offense from some people. John 15:18-20 Don't expect everyone to like you. Don't expect everyone to approve of what you're trying to do, no matter how noble it is. The disciples of Jesus offended the authorities of the day by doing the right thing. Joseph's dream offended his brothers. Joseph didn't make up his dr...

THE AMAZING BENEFITS OF THANKSGIVING

Colossians 3:17 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Thanksgiving to God should be a culture and a lifestyle for God's people. It is clear from the scriptures we read that thanksgiving should be a daily occurance, it's  not something that should be a one off or once in a while act. Thanksgiving comes about from a heart of gratitude, and we should be grateful to God at all times. We cannot afford to be miserly with giving God thanks, because giving God thanks for all He does for you is part of how He receives His glory! And God has said in Isaiah 42:8 that He will not share or yield His glory to anyone. God's goodness is constant in our life, so our thanksgiving should be constant to God. What would happen to us if God only gave us air to breath once in a blue moon? Where would we be if God was a miser? If God was blessing us ONLY according to how many times we showed gratitude, how blessed would you be? Thanksgiving is for all seasons, not only good times. Habakkuk 3:17-18 ...

IT IS WRITTEN

Matthew 4:1-11 'It is written' is a very powerful spiritual platform to operate from in the place of prayer. 'It is written' is the grounds upon which Jesus defeated Satan in our Bible passage- Matthew 4:1-11 'It is written' is our basis for defeating and overcoming the devil, the tempter. 'It is written' is the highest spiritual force. Psalm 138:2 When we say 'It is written' we are saying we know our spiritual right, we are saying we know what God has put in place for us to be blessed and for things to happen for God's glory and our favor. God cannot lie. God's Word is truth, so when we rightly divide God's Word we can overcome in any situation we find ourselves. When we begin to pray God's Word, activities take place in the Spirit. When we say 'It is written' like Jesus said in Matthew 4, we are bringing the Word to bear on a situation! By rightly applying God's Word we can overcome wrong thoughts, tempt...

UNDERSTANDING YOUR UNIQUENESS

Matthew 5:13 1 Peter 2:9 John 1:12, 13 God is not asking you to be another person. God wants you to be your unique self in Christ Jesus. You are unique. You have a divine uniqueness that God has given to you, which is your own 'flavor', your own  unique 'taste' that you are meant to add to the Kingdom of God and the world at large.  Luke 12:32 That's  why you are the salt of the earth. Jesus said each of His followers are the salt of the earth, so to understand your uniqueness you will have to have some insight into what salt is and its qualities. As salt is useful to humanity, so you are useful to humanity and the Kingdom of God. a) Salt has a unique taste : Jesus made it clear we must not loose our taste, our saltiness. The moment we do we are no longer who God created us to be. b)  Salt has a clear white appearance : white is a color associated with purity, and cleanness. This is what the Word of God and blood of Jesus does for us. Amon...

Activating The Presence Of God

Text : Isaiah 57:15 Humility attracts God's presence. If you truly have the presence of God, you'll stand at an advantage in life. Psalm 144:2-8 If God's presence is with you, then rest assured God hears you. Matthew 28:20 The presence of God gives us an appetite for the Word of God, and the Word of God takes us from glory to glory, from faith to faith and strength to strength spiritually. The Lord has designed us to constantly change in every area of our lives and never stay stagnant. The presence of God makes us Christ like, and God's presence makes us evolve into the image and likeness of God. When we start transitioning into the man or woman God has called us to be, we are positioned for answered prayer. The presence of God is with God's sons and daughters, those who have accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and savior. Acts 17:28 How can the presence of God be contacted ? 1) Through salvation. Romans 10:9,10 2) Praying for the baptism of God'...

Prayer: According To God's Word

Text : Luke 1:26- 38 The answer of Mary the mother of Jesus to the angel Gabriel is not only the attitude and mindset every christian should have to prophecy and God's Word, it also reflects a fundamental truth about prayer it shows us the basis upon which our spiritual life and prayer life should built. 1 Timothy 4:5 Good prayer, God glorifying prayer should be according to God's Word. John 15:7 When a good prophecy comes your way, say like Mary "be it unto me according to your Word" When a christian or servant of God prays for you, and you say 'Amen' you are saying 'so be it' and that means "be it unto me according to Jesus" and Jesus is the Word. John 1:1, Revelation 3:14 The Word of God is so important to our prayer life, the Word of God, when rightly divided in the place of prayer our assurance that we are praying right, not wrongly. James 4:3 The Bible talks about rightly dividing the Word of truth, one of the ways we do that i...

UNDERSTANDING GREATNESS!

Jeremiah 10:6 1 Chronicles 16:25 Psalm 96:4 There is the greatness of God and the greatness of His works. The greatness of God's work is the greatness of His creation, and you are one of His creation. God's greatness is part of His glory. Greatness is one of the many attributes of God. God is a great God. God's ways are high and great. Isaiah 55:9 God's name is great. Joshua 7:9 God's hand is great. 2 Chronicles 6:32 God's Kingship is great. Psalm 47:2 God's city is great. Matthew 5:35 God's works are great. God's faithfulness is great. God's love and compassion is great. God's memory is great. God's power is great God's rewards are great God's Kingdom is great. The greatness of God is part of His uniqueness. God's greatness is above all things. 1 Chronicles 29:11 God is greater than all things- physical and spiritual. All things physical and spiritual came into existence through God. Because God is ...

Defeating Ahithophel

1 Samuel 17:1-14 There was a man named Ahithophel. Ahithophel according to the Bible was a great and gifted man. He was part of the great King David's inner circle and a personal advisor to the King. Psalm 41:9 Psalm 55: 12-14 2 Samuel 15:12 Ahithophel was the kind of man any King would be privileged to have on his side. Ahithophel was a great man because he had a great gift. 2 Samuel 16:23 Ahithophel had the gift of counsel. Ahithophel had developed his gift so well, the Bible records that when he gave counsel, it was like God Himself telling you what to do. Ahithophel was so accurate with his gift and David and Absalom consulted him. Ahithophel was also the grandfather of Bathseba, the woman David committed adultery with. 2 Samuel 23:34, 2 Samuel 11:3 Since David killed his grand daughter's husband and took his grand daughter, Ahithophel turned against David. Ahithophel decided to use his God given ability against David, he was close to destroying David but ...

WINNERS TALK

Philippians 3:14 1 Corinthians 9:24 Every child of God should win in life because they have the faith of Jesus and Jesus faith is speaking faith. What you say matters. Romans 10:10 A winner is someone who has engaged in a game, a race or a battle and has emerged victorious or on top. Life is a race we should win. Each day God has given to us is another opportunity to win in life, each day is another opportunity to get it right. Ephesians 5:15-17 Each day we live is another chance to cultivate habits, attitudes and lifestyles that move us in the direction of our God given dreams and God given purposes. To talk is to open your mouth and say something. Luke 21:15 To talk is to use your vocal cords, your tongue and your lips to form words so as to communicate. Psalm 81:10 There is a correlation  between winning in life and what we say/how we talk. That's why we make confessions in this church! God wants you to win. I dare say, you are born to win! You started winning fr...

WINNING THROUGH PRAYER.

1 Chronicles 4:9,10 Matthew 15:28 Prayer is a lifestyle and habit every christian should have and cultivate. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Every child of God is expected to develop a lifestyle of prayer, constantly communing with God. Philippians 4:6-7 For the child of God, prayer is one of the major ways we win in life. Mark 11:24 Prayer is also one of the major ways we stay connected to God. John 15:5-8 The power to glorify God, the power to win is found in the place of prayer, because prayer helps us access God's presence. Psalm 145:18 We should pray about everything, and anything. Prayer is not only for the tough times, its for both the tough times and the good times. Romans 12:12 Our prayer lives should not be limited to a place or church. Ours should be a continuous lifestyle of prayer, irrespective of where we are. John 4:20,21-24 Wonders happen when we pray, and prayer is a wonderful thing because of the privilege of pleasing God through prayer. Revelations 8:4 Ou...

UNTYING GOD'S HANDS

Text  : Isaiah 59:1, 2 To tie the hands of God is to  put God in a position where He won't help you. God is all powerful and God can do anything. God's hands can reach us in any situation and circumstance we find ourselves to deliver us. Psalm 89:13 The good news to us is that God wants to touch you and help you with His hands. Psalm 16:11 The hands are symbolic of our work. Eg. when we say the hands of a person are blessed. We are saying his work, his job, whatever he does is good or successful. The work of our hands refers to our productivity. The hands of God are symbolic of the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit is the Father touching us. The Holy Spirit is a dimension and part of God that does the will and Word of the Father. When the Holy Spirit is upon a person, God's hands are upon that person. 1 Kings 18:46 The Holy Spirit is the tangible agent through which God works. The Holy Spirit is a Spirit with physical impact and force. Genesis 1:1 If the ...

UNDERSTANDING KINGDOM IDEAS

Exodus 35:31-32 Job 32:8 "Ideas rule the world" - Anonymous Every product on earth was once someone's idea. Dreams, visions and ideas are the 'language' of the Holy Spirit. Genesis 15:1, Judges 7:13-15, Genesis 30:25-43 and Genesis 31 When God wants to promote an individual, ideas are one of the ways He does so. Kingdom ideas are thoughts, goals, strategies or plans from God which He drops in our hearts/spirit to better our lives and advance His purposes. The Spirit of God is a creative spirit and ideas are an aspect of creativity. We see the Spirit of God working creatively with God's Word when creation was taking place. Our God is creative, it's the first thing we see about God in the scriptures. The Bible starts by telling us God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 We also see that nature, God's works are manifold. Even His wisdom is manifold. Manifold refers to diversity and creativity. God's people should live creative...

A brief introduction

Be Blessed!

UNDERSTANDING GOD!

To understand God is to understand ourselves and other people. God is a God of wonder, awe, beauty, light, ability, capability, strength, power, creativity, love and order. There are many sides and attributes to God but the most important side of God which is God's being and nature is LOVE. 1 John 4:8 God does all He does out of love. He looks at each of us through the lens and eyes of love. God is a God of diversity. We see His diversity in His works of creation. There are different breeds of dogs, different types of cats, birds, fish, insects and plants. All in their various colors, sizes and varieties. Genesis 1:8-27 Human beings are of different complexion, height, genetic make up, gifts and talents. We are from different cultures, we have different traditions, different families and upbringing, yet in love, God created us all. Some people are created introverts by God, some are created extroverts but irrespective of your personality type God works with anyone He c...

EAGLE BLOOD

Isaiah 40:31 Isaiah 60:8 In Isaiah 40:31, God's people are likened to eagles. In Isaiah 60:8 we see that we take flight by light. The eagle is a very fascinating bird. The eagle is a royal, interesting and great bird. No wonder countries like America, and even Nigeria use the eagle as a symbol. The eagle is the master of the sky, a prince among birds with the greatest of qualities. No wonder Jesus is likened to an eagle in scriptures. And no wonder the eagle is used as an icon by companies, kings, families and nations. Even football teams take up the name of the eagle. Many of the qualities found in the eagle are the qualities in Jesus/God. Deuteronomy 32:9-12 And these are the qualities that should be found in the followers of Jesus to. Deuteronomy 32:13 The eagle is an exotic bird that's known for speed. Blood is the fluid of life. Leviticus 17:14. Our blood determines many things about us, it determines our nature, the quality of our health, and the Bible say...

UNDERSTANDING DIVINE PROGRESS

Proverbs 4:18 Isaiah 60:1, 2 In this ministry as we were inspired by the Lord we themed this year as our year of  'LIGHT & PROGRESS' Which means we are going to succeed by light. To make progress is to succeed steadily. In God's Kingdom light is associated with progress We see this from our text passage in Proverbs 4:18 Light represents everything that's good, positive and divine according to scriptures. When you have enough light in you, you will make steady progress in this dark world. When there is light, there will be progress. Isaiah 58:8 Light also represents God's Word, revelation, wisdom, knowledge, understanding or a secret that God reveals to you that others don't know. Light is a carrier of everything we need and Jesus is Light. John 8:12 What God reveals to you is a light God has given you. It means you have been 'lighted' in an area others have not. It is the will of God that His children make progress in this world the r...

Understanding Answers To Prayer

John 14:13, 14 Jeremiah 33:3 You can spend your entire life praying, but if you do not know how God has answered you, you will miss your harvest. Do you recognise your answer from God when it comes? Acts 12:11-16 You can spend a whole lifetime on your knees praying, if you don't recognise your harvest, you will fail. Ignorance is a terrible thing. A story is told of a man who fell off a ship on the Atlantic Ocean . The man has a relationship with the Lord. But unfortunately he was ignorant in some ways. No one in the ship knew he fell off. He cried to the Lord, asking God not to let him drown. Shortly after his prayer, a man paddling a canoe rode by and offered him a lift. The drowning man declined the help firmly but politely, informing the man paddling the canoe that he was expecting God to save him. Shortly after a man with a speed boat drove by, and offered the drowning man a hand and a ride. The drowning man rejected the help because he believes God will not let h...

THE MISTAKE OF JUDAS ISCARIOT

Matthew 26: 14-25 There are two major things money can be to you - 1) Your servant 2) Your God Money is one of the gods of this world to some people. People knowingly or not worship different things in this world apart from the true God, and money is one of those 'gods'. Satan is called the god of this world, and Satan tempts people away from the true God by raising his head in different forms and ways. It is Satan that makes people replace God with something else in their hearts. When something else replaces God in your heart that thing has become an idol or 'god' in our heart. Ezekiel 14:1- 8 That's why we have to guard our heart jealously. Proverbs 4:23 When money takes the place of God in our hearts it's called 'mammon'. Mammon is the god of the love of money. Matthew 6:24 Jesus said we cannot serve God and mammon at the same time. This is the mistake of Judas Iscariot. He wanted to eat his cake and have it, he wanted to serve the...

NEGOTIATING WITH GOD

Genesis 18:17-33 Many things about the physical realm reflect the spiritual possibilities in the Spirit realm. Truths are parallel. This is part of what parables show us. Parables are fictional stories, that reveal a moral or spiritual truth. Jesus used parables to communicate spiritual truths on an earthly level. The reason for Jesus teaching in parables was to make deep spiritual truths, particularly about God's Kingdom easy for people to understand. If we negotiate in the physical realm, we negotiate in the spiritual realm to. Isaiah 1:18 shows us negotiating with God is possible. The word 'negotiation' is a word associated with business. Every child of God is a spiritual business man or woman. We are here doing business for God, that's why God doesn't take us to heaven immdiately we give our lives to Jesus Christ. Luke 19:13 God leaves us here on earth to use the gifts and abilities He has put in us. 1 Corinthians 12:7-8 And one da...

Prayer: the will of God

Text : 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Prayer and the giving of thanks are the will of God for our lives. Thanksgiving is an important and integral part of prayer. Thanksgiving is not separate from prayer, giving thanks should be included in proper prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 Thanksgiving before and after prayer is evidence of faith. Faith according to Hebrews 11:1 is the evidence of things not seen. If you have the evidence that your prayer is answered, you won't have an issue with giving God thanks when praying. If we do not thank God it is because we are not truly confident that God hears us. 1 John 5:14 Confidence is an aspect of praying that shows we believe our God is alive and He hears. Thanksgiving is our show of faith that we have got our request. Thanksgiving gets us God's attention. 1 John 5:14, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Why Prayer ? 1) It is the will of God. 2) It is part of our devotion as christians. Colossians 4:2 3) It is a way of getting our Father to...

KNOWLEDGE IS KEY.

Hosea 4:6 , Proverbs 2:10,11 , Philippians 3:8 We see from Philippians 3:8 that Paul placed great value on the spiritual knowledge he had. It is commonly said that knowledge is power. It is a true statement. What knowledge does is that it informs you, and because you are informed you are empowered to make decisions that are enlightened. Ignorance limits, knowledge enlightens. Ignorance keeps people bound, knowledge presents people with possibilities. Knowledge preceds exploits. Daniel 11:32 Knowledge is part of what God's Spirit supplies. Isaiah 11:2 Knowledge has a lot to do with determining our worth in most areas of life. Most successful people and companies know something others don't know. Knowledge opens doors the ignorant do not even know exists. Daniel acquired knowledge by books. Daniel 9:2 Jesus acquired knowledge from the Word and from God's Spirit. Luke 4:18-21 When you are knowledgeable, you will be prepared and ready. If people are destroyed...

Prayer & Knowledge

Proverbs 11:9 , Hosea 4:6 , Matthew 22:29 , Matthew 6:9-14 Knowledge is important in the place of prayer. We know from Romans 10:17 that faith comes through knowledge. As we receive spiritual knowledge, our faith grows. It's spiritual knowledge that evolves into faith. True faith is always based on something, it's always based on spiritual knowledge. So knowledge is very important in the place of prayer. We see from the Lord's prayer that Jesus's prayer life is based on the truth of scripture. It's based on sound spiritual knowledge. We see from the Lord's prayer that Jesus teaches us to pray from a position of scriptural knowledge. Prayer is also being able to cast things on the Lord and leaving it there. 1 Peter 5:7 Knowledge is important to every area of our lives, and prayer is not an exception. Prayers prayed with scriptural understanding is prayer that's sending God's Word back to Him and His Word does not return to Him void. Isaiah...

THE KINGDOM DREAM

Mark 9:35-37, Mark 4:30-32, John 3:3-7 The reason many people leave their country of origin for another country as immigrants is because they have a belief, they caught a dream, and they want to be in an environment or a nation where things work. So they move, hoping their dreams come true in another country. America, among the nations of the earth, is a country associated with 'the dream'. 'The American Dream' America, among the nations of the earth has the most millionaires in the world, many of them are immigrants or children of immigrants who have become nationalized citizens. This is able to happen because America has a system in place that is very fair by human standards. They operate the free enterprise system. What has attracted many people to the U.S over the years is that they have 'packaged' themselves as the land or country of possibilities. What this means is that if you are hardworking, have a talent or gift, you can rise in your chosen f...

YOU DESERVE YOUR DREAM.

Luke 12:32 , 2 Peter 1:3 , 1 Corinthians 3:21-23 You are a  child of God. If you know Jesus as Lord and Savior, if you have been washed in the blood of the Lamb, then you're an offspring of God. Acts 17:29 You're an offspring of God who is a dreamer. Acts 17:28 You're the offspring of a God who is the best. You're the child of a God who created what we know as quality. Genesis 1:31 You're the son or daughter of a God from whom all things that are good and worthwhile flow.  James 1:17 You need to know and purpose in your heart that you deserve your dream. Psalm 37:4 Your mental conditioning has a lot to do with whether you will achieve your dreams or not. 2 Timothy 1:7 The Bible talks a lot about the mind and the heart. The words mind and heart are used interchangeably in the Bible. Most times when the Bible talks about the heart it refers to our mind. The state of our mind is very important when it comes to the fulfillment of our dreams. In life can...

RESURRECTING YOUR DREAM

Romans 8:11, John 11:25 , Psalm 37:4 Not everyone achieves and manifests the dreams God has put in their heart. It's not because some of them don't know the dreams God has put in their hearts, but some where along the line they allowed their dreams to die. Dreams can die. it's possible for dreams to die. Dreams can die because :- 1) People die - human beings are the carriers of dreams and when people die, at times their dreams die with them and they have no heir or successor to carry on their dreams. They didn't train anyone or duplicate their dream. 2) People loose focus - focus is needed to achieve or manifest our dreams. One of Satan's strategies is to break people's focus. If your focus can be broken, your dreams can die. Satan can give people w wrong dream or vision to mislead, mis-direct and break people's focus. Eg. Judas Iscariot 3) People loose motivation for their dreams - rest is needed for dreams to be fulfilled or a person can burn...

Walking In A God Inspired Dream.

Walking In A God Inspired Dream Genesis 37:5-7, Numbers 13:29-33, Genesis 13:14-16, Genesis 15:1 Your dreams are important to God. I'm not necessarily referring to the dreams we have when asleep. By dreams I'm referring to your life's picture of what you want to achieve. I'm referring to your vision, your aim and the mental picture of what you want to be, what you want to attain, what you want to do with yourself. God desires that His children have dreams. God is the giver of dreams. Acts 2:17 In fact the Bible is a book of dreams! It's a spiritual manual full of the dreams of God towards humanity.  The Bible reveals the wish, the aim, the desire, the intentions and the plan of God for all human beings. God's dream for you is linked to your life's assignment or purpose for your life.  God's dream precede the manifestation of your purpose. When you fulfill your life's assignment you are fitting properly into God's big dream puzzle. Eg. Jere...

You Are Someone's Hero.

YOU ARE SOMEONE'S HERO. Text : Romans 8:19 The world is in a time and season where it is seeking for people who have something extra to offer. The world is in a phase where it needs solution providers in all areas and walks of life because the times we live in are 'dark times' which the Bible had already spoken about thousands of years ago. Isaiah 60:2 We are in perilous times. We are in difficult times. The Lord Jesus predicted the times we are in now. Matthew 24:3-13 The world is in need of superheroes. My reason for saying this is not far fetched. Just read the newspapers, they are full of bad news, negativity, and darkness. Listen to the news, there is a lot of anger, fights, confusion and misunderstandings out there. We know the direction the world is going and we can feel it's pulse through the news, the kind of films being made, entertainment shows and comic books. Comic book heroes are being made into films today. It reflects the yearning, the demand and ...

UNDERSTANDING YOUR SPIRITUAL CALLING

Romans 11:29, Jude 1:1,John 10:3, Romans 1:6, Romans 8:30 Every believer is called to serve in God's Kingdom in one capacity or the other, with one spiritual gift or the other or in one or more of the 5 fold ministry offices. Spiritually speaking our call is a high one, our call is a dignified one and it is God who provides the platform for us to minister. That platform is what the Bible refers to as candle stand, lamp stand or hill. Matthew 5:14, Ephesians 4:11,12, Revelation 1:20 You shine by standing on your platform doing what God tells you to do. The spiritual calling of God dignifies our lives. And we have all been called to be priests and Kings from a spiritual kingdom to show forth God's praises. 1 Peter 2:9 Your candle stand, lamp stand or hill is your spiritual platform. Your spiritual platform is your ministry office. It's what gives you the legitimate right to do what you are doing. It is Jesus Christ himself who called you to that office spiritually, t...

PRAYER & THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

Revelation 5:12, Luke 12:32, Psalm 34:10, 1 Peter 2:9, Hebrews 1:14, Luke 17:21, Colossians 1:27 Prayer is the lifestyle of Kingdom people. Everything we want and need is found in God's Kingdom and we access those things through prayer. God's Kingdom officials are designed to respond to prayer. God's Kingdom officials are the angels. The Kingdom of God is the greatest Kingdom there has ever been and the blessings and resources of this Kingdom cannot be exhausted. Everything the Kingdom has and can give is what God is offering us. It is God's good pleasure for us to have the Kingdom. Which means you are royalty. Everything about God's Kingdom reflects His royalty and majesty. Since God is offering us the Kingdom, it means He is offering us wealth, glory, and power. As we walk in these dimensions God is glorified. If you are born again you have been chosen by God as a new creature to access and manifest the Kingdom. Olutosin Ogunkolade taught this m...

IGNORANT, WRONG VIEWS ABOUT MONEY

Texts : Matthew 22:29 Whether we are aware of it or not, money plays an important part in today's world. As long as you have not departed from this world yet you will have to handle money and have views about money and financial prosperity. Why financial prosperity? a) Your financial prosperity matters because 80% of human challenges are financial related. b) Your financial prosperity matters because over 80% of divorces are financial related. c) You need finances to live a dignified life and pay your bills. Even our Lord showed us we have to pay the bills when they come. Matthew 17:24-27 d) Parents have a responsibility to provide for their households. Money is needed for that. 1 Timothy 5:8 e) The prosperity message was part of Jesus's gospel to the poor. Isaiah 61:1 f) Money is needed by church assemblies, missionaries and ministers to advance the gospel. Zechariah 1:17 g) Money is a need in today's world and is the reason people go to work. If you don't...

THE AMAZING BENEFITS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Text: Proverbs 21:21, Matthew 6:33, 2 Corinthians 5:21 The topic of righteousness is one any serious Christian or church cannot avoid. Righteousness is one of the major attributes of God. God is righteous because He will always do right. God is righteous because He is right in His views, He is right in His thinking, He is right in His Words, He is right with His reactions towards us, and His direction is right. Righteousness cannot be separated from justice. Isaiah 30:18 Righteousness is an aspect of holiness. 2 Corinthians 5:21 Righteousness is a gift God gives or confers on His children through Jesus Christ. Romans 1:17 Righteousness for God’s children is to have a right standing with God. Psalm 119:1 When you have a right standing with God, you are holy. There is a need for works or obedience in keeping righteous. This righteousness or holiness is given, it is a work of grace, you do not earn it by works, you receive it by grace. Romans 3:21-22 The eternal l...

THE LIFE & RISE OF JOSEPH

Psalm 105:15-22 Joseph is a very interesting Bible character. Just as many old testament Bible characters are, he is a type and shadow of Jesus Christ who was to come. In other words, there are some parallels between Joseph’s life and Jesus’s life. Parallels : 1A)   Joseph, just like Jesus had a clean image and reputation. 2B)   Joseph just like Jesus, forgave. Joseph forgave his brothers the same way Jesus forgave those who crucified Him.  Genesis 50:14-22, Luke 23:34 3C)   Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers in the same manner Jesus was sold for money by Judas Iscariot Matthew 27:3, Genesis 37:12-28 4D)   Joseph rose to occupy his throne in the same manner Jesus rose to sit on his throne. Genesis 41:40,41  Mark 16:19 5E)   Joseph was at the right hand of Pharaoh, the way Jesus is at the right hand of the Father. Joseph 41:40-41,  Hebrews 8:1 6F)     Joseph overcame temptation just as Jesus ov...
