The "Suddenlies" Of God

Acts 2:1-4 Our God is a God of 'suddenlies' who can work sudden signs, wonders, and miracles in our lives. The day of Pentecost, which some believe and would debate was the birth of the church, was a sudden moment, "Suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a mighty wind" A remarkable occurrence took place before the conception and birth of John the Baptist. Suddenly, angel Gabriel appeared to Zechariah the husband of Elizabeth and subsequent father of John the Baptist as he served in God's presence by burning incense in the Lord's temple. Luke 1:8-20 Anyone who is doing God's will can receive a 'suddenly' miracle from God. Anyone serving God faithfully despite the odds can have a life changing and sudden encounter like Zechariah the priest had. What had been impossible in Zechariah the priest and his wife Elizabeth's life, suddenly became possible because of a sudden angelic encounter God granted him. Cornelius was a generous man who gave

Trails Of Fire

Judges 15:1-5 There are lessons/parallels we can gather from the 300 foxes Samson released into the Philistine fields after setting them on fire, as seen in our text message. Samson's wife had been given to another man while he was away shortly after they got married, she was given to a Philistine man who played the role of best man/friend to Samson on his wedding day. This was done by Samson's father under Philistine influence so as to spite Samson, since Samson had taken a wife from the Philistines, the enemy camp. The foxes Samson used to get vengeance on the Philistines are an example of how we should be for God. The foxes were used as weapons by Samson. You should be a weapon in the hands of your creator . Jeremiah 51:20 The foxes were alive when Samson used them, dead foxes would be of no use to Samson. God has kept you alive so that you will be useful to Him . Psalm 30:9 The foxes Samson used to destroy the farmlands of the Philistines were lit with fire. It is God's

Air Power

Revelations 12:13,14 The two wings of a great eagle given to the woman from our text passage above was given to her by God to help her escape the enemy. God is the one who makes a way of escape for us. For this woman he made a way of escape for her through the air. Wings empower us to dominate the sky. Man was given the blessing to dominate, a mandate to have dominion over land, sea, and the sky. Man was created with the intention and instruction to have dominion over the fish of the sea (marine, aquatic, water realm), the birds of the air (the heavens, sky, atmosphere, wind) and over cattle, over all the earth, over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth (land, terrafirma, animals) Genesis 1:26 It is God-like power to have dominion over the air/wind. This was why the disciples of Jesus marveled at Jesus when He rebuked the wind and the sea, by doing so He showed His dominion over the sky and the sea. The word of God works in all three realms- sky, land, and sea. There are ange

On The Wings Of The Eagle

Exodus 19:4 God used the illustration of the eagle to explain how He upheld the Israelites as they journeyed out of Egypt. Deuteronomy 32:9-11 The eagle is a remarkable bird, it is the only bird God identifies with in the scriptures. There are other birds mentioned in the scriptures- the raven, the pelican, the vulture, the owl, the ostrich, the rooster, and the sparrow. It's only in the eagle God finds qualities that are worthy enough to associate with His being. Four living creatures from the presence of God were seen by Ezekiel the priest in a vision and they had four faces each, the face of an eagle was one of the four faces. Ezekiel 1:4-10 The eagle is a big bird who has a very wide wingspan. The eagle is also a very smart bird who knows how to use the large wings it has effectively. Just like the eagle, we have a responsibility to use what God has given us in smart and effective ways- our time, gifts, talents, abilities, and treasures. The wings of the eagle acts as a shade
