UNDERSTANDING GOD!

To understand God is to understand ourselves and other people.
God is a God of wonder, awe, beauty, light, ability, capability, strength, power, creativity, love and order.
There are many sides and attributes to God but the most important side of God which is God's being and nature is LOVE. 1 John 4:8
God does all He does out of love.
He looks at each of us through the lens and eyes of love.
God is a God of diversity. We see His diversity in His works of creation. There are different breeds of dogs, different types of cats, birds, fish, insects and plants. All in their various colors, sizes and varieties. Genesis 1:8-27
Human beings are of different complexion, height, genetic make up, gifts and talents. We are from different cultures, we have different traditions, different families and upbringing, yet in love, God created us all.
Some people are created introverts by God, some are created extroverts but irrespective of your personality type God works with anyone He chooses just like the disciples of Jesus. They had different personalities yet the Lord used each of them.

God is interested in human beings. Psalm 8:4
This God we serve is so interested in us that He even became one of us just to understand us, that is love. John 1:14
Like God, we have to see people with the right view.
If you are anything like your creator, do you take the time to understand people or do you hastily judge them based on how they dress, what you consider to be their lifestyle, their posture, how they sound on the phone or through your own religious lens?
Do you understand that walking in love which is our call as christian's will involve understanding other people's personality types and accepting their difference and uniqueness? Romans 12:18

God is a God who has compassion on the poor, the weak, the defeated and the disadvantaged.
How do we treat disadvantaged people?
How do we treat the poor? Psalm 68:5,6

God is a God who lifts the beggar from the dunghill and sets them up among princes. 1 Samuel 2:8
God is a God who speaks. It's one of His major attributes. Hebrews 1:1,2
God is the miracle God. Psalm 77:14
God is the magnificent provider. Philippians 4:19
God is the heavenly Father, the Spirit, who truly cares for us. John 3:16, Hebrews 12:9
God is the one who pursues our good. Psalm 103:5
God is the one who schedules our miracles. Psalm 77:14
God is the one who delights in all our acts of faith. Hebrews 11:6
God created us to increase, and He wants us to increase. Deuteronomy 1:11
God is a God who bestows blessings. Proverbs 10:22
God blesses through His Words. His Words are promises or prophecies of what God will do for you.
God's Word can also come in the form of an instruction. His Word preceeds His blessing.
God delights in pleasant surprises, the unexpected, and He does it through and with  His people, His children to prove what He can do 1 Samuel 2:8
You can be the next person God will work a miracle through and for.

Can we fully understand God? Perhaps not.
There will always be something to see, to know, to explore and understand about God all through eternity. Philippians 3:10
Knowing and understanding God is a journey.
Knowing God is one of the greatest treasures. Philippians 3:7,8
God, just like us also has things He needs.
To touch the heart of God is to be concerned about what God is concerned about and seek to do something about that concern.

God once needed a prophet, and a barren woman called Hannah tapped into that frequency and got her child.
God searched for a loyal man with unwavering commitment. Abraham tapped into this need of God, fulfilled that need by giving up his son and got blessed in return with his son Isaac who he was willing to kill intact.
God has always needed people who will worship Him in Spirit and truth. David, long ago tapped into this frequency and became God's man.
If you want God to look in your direction and bless you in ways you can't imagine, focus on His needs and concerns.
God needed a messenger, Isaiah tapped into this need and became a choice messenger of God.

Olutosin Ogunkolade, a Teacher Pastor shared this message.

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus
