Prayer: the will of God

Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Prayer and the giving of thanks are the will of God for our lives.
Thanksgiving is an important and integral part of prayer.
Thanksgiving is not separate from prayer, giving thanks should be included in proper prayer. Philippians 4:6-7

Thanksgiving before and after prayer is evidence of faith.
Faith according to Hebrews 11:1 is the evidence of things not seen.
If you have the evidence that your prayer is answered, you won't have an issue with giving God thanks when praying.

If we do not thank God it is because we are not truly confident that God hears us. 1 John 5:14
Confidence is an aspect of praying that shows we believe our God is alive and He hears.
Thanksgiving is our show of faith that we have got our request.
Thanksgiving gets us God's attention. 1 John 5:14, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Why Prayer?
1) It is the will of God.
2) It is part of our devotion as christians.
Colossians 4:2
3) It is a way of getting our Father to listen to us. Jeremiah 29:12
4) It's a major way of receiving from God. Mark 11:24
5) It shows our faithfulness to God. Romans 12:12
6) It's a way of receiving secrets and insights from God. Jeremiah 33:3
7) It aids our deliverance from trouble. Psalm 18:6

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18...

Out Of The Ashes

Isaiah 61:3 Ashes are not seen as useful substances. Ashes are waste that's thrown away. Ashes are what is left after a substance is burnt out. Your life may seem like ashes right now but something good and beautiful can come out of it when it's given to God. You may feel like an ash yourself. You may be feeling burnt out from unpleasant experiences of the past, the previous week, the last Month , or the the last year and life's battles may have left you burnt out. Know that out of your ashes can come beauty! God is the one who gives us beauty for ashes. God can make you and your life beautiful! Don't make the ashes your permanent state. God can make your season of ashes work out into a season of glory for you. Romans 8:28 The phoenix is a mystical and fictional bird that burns out after living for about six centuries. After burning itself out it rises from it's ashes renewed, youthful and revitalized to live through another life cycle. Like the p...
