UNDERSTANDING YOUR UNIQUENESS

Matthew 5:13
1 Peter 2:9
John 1:12, 13

God is not asking you to be another person.
God wants you to be your unique self in Christ Jesus.
You are unique.
You have a divine uniqueness that God has given to you, which is your own 'flavor', your own  unique 'taste' that you are meant to add to the Kingdom of God and the world at large.
Luke 12:32
That's  why you are the salt of the earth.
Jesus said each of His followers are the salt of the earth, so to understand your uniqueness you will have to have some insight into what salt is and its qualities.
As salt is useful to humanity, so you are useful to humanity and the Kingdom of God.

a) Salt has a unique taste: Jesus made it clear we must not loose our taste, our saltiness. The moment we do we are no longer who God created us to be.
b) Salt has a clear white appearance: white is a color associated with purity, and cleanness. This is what the Word of God and blood of Jesus does for us. Among God's creation, only humans have this privilege.
c) Salt enhances the food it's put into: the saints of God, the people of God are meant to contribute positively to the world and the Kingdom of God. This is our purpose.
d) Salt preserves other items (food): Joseph, Queen Esther, Jesus and many characters in the Bible were the 'salt' of their time. Their leadership, their gifts, and purpose from God helped them preserve life.
As for Queen Esther, she helped preserve the nation of Israel from destruction as planned  by Haman.
Joseph was sent as a slave into the land of Egypt to help preserve life through God's wisdom.
Jesus brought the Kingdom of God to earth and humanity, he went about raising the dead, healing blind eyes, the lame and the dead. He preserved life.
As a son or daughter of God, the unique privilege of preserving like salt does has been extended to you.
Genesis 50:20 shows us Joseph's purpose was that of preserving lives.
Esther 7:1-10 shows us the story of the role Queen Esther played in the preservation of the nation of Israel.
Luke 4:17-21 shows us the mandate of Jesus, which preserved and makes life better.
You have something to contribute that will make life a better place. Matthew 5:14
You have something to offer! What will the world be like without light?
You have something to offer that the Kingdom of God needs. You have a role to play in advancing God's Kingdom.
The personality God gave you, the Christ character being developed in you, the mind of Christ you have, the faith of Christ in you, the Word of God in you, the Spirit of God in you, the spiritual gifts in you, the purposes of God for you are all qualities that make you unique.

How can you use and develop the qualities and uniqueness in you as a salt of the earth?

1) Stay connected to Jesus-Without Jesus, you loose your saltiness. Without Jesus, a christian becomes a cast away. John 15:4-6
Jesus is the reason you are the salt of the earth.
What Jesus said will happen to a person who looses his saltiness is what will happen to an individual who is disconnected from Him.
Matthew 5:13

2) Ask God's Spirit to reveal to you what you carry- the Holy Spirit of God is the revelator. The Holy Spirit is the revealer of secrets. John 16:14
So, in the Holy Spirit you can find yourself. Psalm 25:14
He created you and knows what's in you. Jeremiah 1:5
The Holy Spirit enhances you as the salt of the earth. John 16:13

3) Follow divine instruction- Do whatever God tells you to do. As you follow divine instructions, you will get divine results, divine results in your life will make you unique.
Deuteronomy 28:1-13
The nation of Israel became a unique nation whose fame spread far because they followed divine instruction. Joshua 2:8-11

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18...

Out Of The Ashes

Isaiah 61:3 Ashes are not seen as useful substances. Ashes are waste that's thrown away. Ashes are what is left after a substance is burnt out. Your life may seem like ashes right now but something good and beautiful can come out of it when it's given to God. You may feel like an ash yourself. You may be feeling burnt out from unpleasant experiences of the past, the previous week, the last Month , or the the last year and life's battles may have left you burnt out. Know that out of your ashes can come beauty! God is the one who gives us beauty for ashes. God can make you and your life beautiful! Don't make the ashes your permanent state. God can make your season of ashes work out into a season of glory for you. Romans 8:28 The phoenix is a mystical and fictional bird that burns out after living for about six centuries. After burning itself out it rises from it's ashes renewed, youthful and revitalized to live through another life cycle. Like the p...
