THE LIFE & RISE OF JOSEPH

Psalm 105:15-22

Joseph is a very interesting Bible character.
Just as many old testament Bible characters are, he is a type and shadow of Jesus Christ who was to come.
In other words, there are some parallels between Joseph’s life and Jesus’s life.

Parallels:
1A)  Joseph, just like Jesus had a clean image and reputation.
2B)  Joseph just like Jesus, forgave. Joseph forgave his brothers the same way Jesus forgave those who crucified Him.
 Genesis 50:14-22, Luke 23:34
3C)  Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers in the same manner Jesus was sold for money by Judas Iscariot
Matthew 27:3, Genesis 37:12-28
4D) Joseph rose to occupy his throne in the same manner Jesus rose to sit on his throne.
Genesis 41:40,41  Mark 16:19
5E)  Joseph was at the right hand of Pharaoh, the way Jesus is at the right hand of the Father.
Joseph 41:40-41,  Hebrews 8:1
6F)   Joseph overcame temptation just as Jesus overcame temptation.
Genesis 39:7-13, Luke 4:2-13
7G)  God’s dream for Joseph was fulfilled in the same manner the Father’s dream is fulfilled through Jesus.
Genesis 42:6, Isaiah 9:6
Joseph is an example of a man who rose to his higher heights in life.
There are principles that can be learnt from the life and person of Joseph that can launch us into our higher heights from his life.

Qualities Of Joseph that launched him into his higher height:-
11)    DIVINE PRESENCE- This is the number one quality and key to Joseph’s rise in life. Genesis 39:2
22)    DILIGENCE- Whatever he did and wherever he did it, he did it well. Genesis 39:22
33)    DISCIPLINE- It takes discipline to hold on to your dreams. Despite the pit, the past, the abuse, the lies against him, the prison, he never ran away or give up.
44)    WISDOM-Is the principal thing and will play a principal part to our rising to a higher height. Genesis 41:38-39
55)    GRACE- It is by grace that Joseph was chosen among his brothers, it’s by grace he could interpret dreams.
Genesis 40:18-22
66)    FAVOR- Is an aspect of grace that makes men respond to us favourably. Genesis 39:4, 21
77)    PURPOSE- God created Joseph for a purpose. That purpose was to preserve lives. That was the reason for his higher height. Genesis 50:20

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. Car drivers either buy a GPS/Navigation device system or
