Acts 2:4
Psalm 85:6
Isaiah 57:15
The Azusa street revival was a revival that occurred in 1906 in Los Angeles California.
It happened in the month of April as African Americans gathered together asking for God's Spirit.
It changed lives forever and forged friendships that lasted till death.
312 Azusa street in a white washed building is where it happened.
Millions found Jesus Christ through this revival and there was an out flowing of the supernatural during this revival.
William Seymour the one eyed African American preacher who God used to ignite the revival was a man noted for humility.
He was also known as a man of prayer who prayed 5-7 hours daily.
Acts 2:4 was the major Bible passage of the Azusah revival which is a baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire.
During the revival many people realized they started speaking languages they never learned, some started playing musical instruments they had not learned to play when the Holy Spirit descended.
I believe the Welsh revival of 1904 inspired the Azusah street revival of 1906.
The Azusah street revival brought great joy.
Hundreds began to gather to Azusah street and gave their lives to Christ at the start of the revival and it spread out from there.
Although it was a work of God's Spirit it attracted great criticism and mockery.
During the revival no service was ever the same.
The meetings were never planned.
Each service was different from the other, God's Spirit was allowed to have His way and teach through who ever He wanted.
When anyone spoke from the flesh it was immediately and politely turned down.
During this revival angel choruses were heard among the people and tongues of fire were seen on peoples heads, faces glowed and angel songs were sang during services.
Personally, I believe a revival of God's Spirit and the revival of the Kingdom message is what the nations of the world needs in this day and age.
