Jezebel was the power behind the throne during the reign of King Ahab.
The spirit in Ahab's wife was not the King but it was the one ruling.
1 Kings 21:25
Ahab, Jezebel's husband was just a figure head King, he had no control, he was powerless to the spirit at work in his wife's life.
Jezebel was more than an ordinary woman as we will find out later on in the Bible.
The spirit in Ahab's wife is against God's program.
Revelation 2:20
Jezebel was a woman possessed by an evil spirit that is used as an agent of Satan to frustrate and destroy ministries, this spirit is used to control and seduce God's servants, it's a spirit that manipulates great and shinning destinies.
The evil spirit that was at work in Jezebel of the Old testament is still very much around today.

The end times will be difficult because of the type of spirits in the world.
This spirit is one of Satan's potent weapons and strategies to destroy individuals who are potent for the Kingdom of God, and is also used to destroy the names of people who are effective for God.
It is used to take away the platforms of ministers.
Revelation 12:4,9- Satan is still in the business of casting down God's stars.
Jezebel is Satan's weapon to destroy movements of God.
The Jezebel spirit is what brought the Welsh revival of 1904 to a tragic end when Evan Roberts the young man God used to kick start that revival was attacked by the Jezebel spirit.
He accepted a wrong doctrine from a certain lady evangelist, and it was down hill for him for a while before he retraced his steps.
However the Welsh revival waned because of this.
People attacked by the Jezebel spirit feel helpless, they feel their authority has been taken away and they can feel suicidal.

One of the operations of the Jezebel Spirit is seduction.
Seduction by wrong doctrines, seduction by sexual enticements, and the seduction of power.
The aim of the Jezebel spirit is in line with the devil's mandate of John 10:10
Every true church of God has to watch out for this spirit.
Every true minister of the gospel has to be aware of how the Jezebel spirit operates.
It is through people the Jezebel spirit operates.
It is a spirit sent to take people off the right course for their lives.
2 Kings 9:30, 31.
It tried to get Jehu off course by 1) looks and 2) by words of intimidation.
A lot of times this spirit will come through people who seem to mean well and care about us.
It has always been the strategy of Satan to access people through those close to them.

The purpose of the Jezebel spirit is to derail God's people from their destinies.
This spirit works through the works of the flesh.
Galatians 5:19-21
The Jezebel spirit kills revivals.
The Jezebel spirit is what attacks ministers when they are at the height of their anointing.
It (Jezebel spirit) is the spirit of sexual promiscuity which causes God's servants to fall.

It is the spiritual force behind pornography and sexual orgies in many religions.
One of the major aims of the Jezebel spirit is to bring worship to Satan through false religion and worship.

Baal in scripture is Satan.
Satan has many names, titles, masks or disguises. Baal is one of them.
Characteristics Of The Jezebel Spirit
1) Wickedness:
1 Kings 18:4.
Satan used the spirit in this evil queen to ostracize and cut off the supply of God's people.
2) Control: wants people under it's control. If this spirit can't control a person , it will try to destroy that person.

3) Sexual promiscuity: Jezebel is called the 'mother' of harlots.

4) Wrong doctrine: It is a spirit of religion, false religion, which keeps people bound to Satan.
5) Witchcraft: The Jezebel spirit is a very stubborn spirit that doesn't give up easily. It's a stubborn and destructive spirit. 2 Kings 9:22, 1 Samuel 15:23
6) Intimidation: This is what the spirit inside Ahab's queen tried to use on Elijah, and he fell for it.

How do we defeat the spirit of Jezebel?
a) Accept Jesus as Lord and savior- 2 Corinthians 5:17, Jesus is the one who can give us a new beginning from unclean spirits and an unhealthy past.
b) Use the Word- Luke 4:3-13 Jesus defeated the devil by the Word
c) Employ the anointing- Isaiah 10:27
d) The Blood Of Jesus- Revelation 12:11- The blood of Jesus is to be used by faith during prayer, and can also be administered by faith through the Holy communion.
