DAVID, AN EXAMPLE OF FAITH (transcript)

Text: 1 Samuel 17

In these times we live in, it is only true faith that will see us through, faith that has it's foundation in God's Word; faith that is inspired by God and sees things from God's perspective.
This is the kind of faith David the shepherd boy had that made him overcome Goliath, a faith rooted in godly knowledge.
1 Samuel 17:26

David's faith could see, David's faith had a perspective.
David, unlike King Saul and his men could see his superiority over Goliath.
He saw himself as a carrier of God's covenant by circumcision which was an instruction God gave to Abraham.
David understood his spiritual history, he knew that he was from the nation God had chosen and that Goliath is from the uncircumcised enemy nation God is against.
David knew it's the man God is with that wins in life.
David used all this knowledge to his advantage.
Do you see your own advantage over your enemies?

Your enemies are anything standing against your inheritance.
Anything resisting the plan, the purpose, the intentions of God for your life is an enemy.
Sickness, disease, fear, negative principalities, powers, fallen angels, demons, this evil world system satanic agents in human flesh are your enemies.
We see in 1 Samuel 17:25 that Goliath was defying Israel, just as Goliath was defying Israel your enemies are those personalities, things, and habits that defy you.
As Goliath was a reproach to Israel, enemies try to reproach you.
1 Samuel 17:26

Life will be full of battles for a true child of God Ephesians 6:12, because the world is under Satan's control.
Goliath was an enemy I believe Satan raised from the womb to defy the plans of God.
Satan imitates the strategies of God.
As God chooses people from the womb like we see in Jeremiah 1, Satan also chooses people from the womb.
Pregnant women should pray well.
Psalm 58:3

It doesn't matter which enemy Satan has raised, you can overcome them like David overcame Goliath.
As David used his faith, use the faith of God in you and you will overcome.
1 John 5:4
Godly faith is rooted in a knowledge of God's Word just the same way David's faith was rooted in the Israelite spiritual history.
Romans 10:17
Godly faith does not trust in carnal weapons, just like the faith of David killed Goliath without a sword. 1 Samuel 17:50, 2 Corinthians 10:4,5

Godly faith uses what you have in your hands, it can bring victory with the simple things around you, like your gifts and talents.
God doesn't demand you use what you don't have.
David had a sling and a stone, Moses had a rod, Samson had the jawbone of a donkey.
 Judges 15:16.
What is in your own hand that God can use?
When you operate in faith, God can use anything to bring you victory.
1 Corinthians 1:27-29

Faith has a perspective
Faith can see.
David had the right perspective about Goliath which King Saul and his men didn't have.
David could see Goliath falling before him which Saul and his men did not see.

Faith makes the difference
It's faith that made the difference between David and Saul and the Israelite army.
Faith is not moved by the physical.
Every other person saw David as the disadvantaged one, and Goliath as the one to win the battle.
1 Samuel 17:33
David, a man of faith didn't allow natural circumstances to deceive him.
He stuck with his faith and knowledge of God he had.
We are of a better covenant than David because of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We have to release our faith.
Faith is what it takes to deal with every 'mountain' and every 'Goliath'

David saw himself as the winner before defeating Goliath.
Faith explores possibilities.
David didn't see himself as the little boy and Goliath as the giant.
Faith made him see the right way.
David saw himself as the giant, and Goliath as the little boy.
David reduced Goliath in his mind, while King Saul and his men enlarged Goliath in their minds.
David reduced Goliath to a bird, not even a dog like Goliath thought. Because it birds that are killed with stones the way David killed Goliath!
You can win by faith!

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus
