ADVANCING THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Texts: Matthew 9:35, Matthew 24:13 & 14, Mark 1:14

God will never come down to do for human beings what human beings should do for themselves.
God can inspire you to pray but God will not take your prayers for you.
God will instruct and encourage you to study His Word but God will not come down from heaven and study your Bible for you.
God can give wisdom and direction to a student but God will not enter the examination hall to write that students exams.
God can show a man who to marry, but God will not do the proposing on the man's behalf, that's the man's own responsibility and assignment.
Acts 17:28

There are things God expects of us.
There are assignments and responsibilities God has for us here on earth which God will never carry out for us.
 1 Corinthians 7:17
God expects us to study His Word, to find out His heart and mind and align ourselves to His will, His intentions and His priorities.
2 Timothy 2:15
The study of God's Word shows us His Kingdom is His priority, His power is His priority and His glory is important to Him.
Matthew 6:13

The honor, dignity, power and glory of any King is seen and reflected in His Kingdom.
God's power and glory is found in His Kingdom.
That's why God's Kingdom is mentioned before His power and glory.
 Matthew 6:13
God's power and glory is found in His Kingdom, this is why God's Kingdom is so important.
The message of God's Kingdom will be relevant to every generation till the Lord Jesus comes.
As long as God is a king we will always have to talk about His Kingdom.
The major theme of Jesus's teachings while He was here in flesh was the Kingdom of God.
 Matthew 24:14

The Bible shows us God's Kingdom is God's plan, God's will and God's intention for us.
The garden of Eden where Adam and Eve lived was God's kingdom come to earth.
Adam had the job of maintaining that garden and spreading the garden to the rest of the earth since the garden was only in one spot.
Just as God needed Adam to spread His Kingdom, God needed the last Adam-Jesus to restore the Kingdom and spread it since the first Adam lost the Kingdom.

God always needs human beings to propagate what He is doing on earth.
God needs you!
God needs you for the propagation of His Kingdom.
Matthew 28:19
God has already instructed and directed us on what to do.
God has already revealed His will, His plan and His assignment for us.
His will, His plan, His assignment for us on earth is His Kingdom.
God has kept each of us so we can advance His Kingdom.
That's why God doesn't take us to heaven immediately after we get saved.
The responsibility to advance God's Kingdom on earth is more for man than it is for God, this is because the earth is man's realm.
 Psalm 115:16

However God is ready to cooperate with us by His Spirit and His Word to expand His Kingdom to all areas of our lives and the earth.
We need His Spirit, we need His anointing to advance the Kingdom.
If you ask God, He will show you His specific assignment and role for you in propagating His Kingdom.

How Do We Advance God's Kingdom ?
1) Through Evangelism-simply put is soul winning.
It is God working through us to bring others into His Kingdom.
Mark 16:15

2) Through right Biblical teachings on our church pulpits- the Kingdom should be one of our major doctrines in church.
Believers need to be more kingdom minded.
Everything we need is in the glory of God, and the Glory of God is found in God's Kingdom.
Philippians 4:19

3) Inviting People to church-inviting people to an assembly where they can hear Kingdom messages, the true gospel, sows the right seeds in people which germinates and brings forth fruit for God.
Hopefully such people embrace salvation, and are given opportunities/platforms to serve in God's house/assembly.

4) Through your Kingdom service- Your kingdom service is within the church assembly and it will also be outside of it.
Churches/assemblies have a responsibility to encourage people to join departments, this is were the kingdom service of most saints start.
It helps the smooth flow of the service and the advancing of the kingdom.

5) With our Material and financial contribution- material and financial contributions are Gods will and way of blessing His saints.
Giving is a kingdom life style, giving to God's work and the poor has always been Gods way of getting His people blessed and His kingdom advanced. Proverbs 11:24, Luke 21:1-4

6) Following the directions and Inspiration of the Holy Spirit- Romans 8:14
God leads us into what He wants us to do for the Kingdom, and He gives us His strategies through His Spirit.

7) Fighting a good fight- There is a type of fight that is good. It's not a carnal fight where we throw punches at each other or curse each other with our mouths.
The Bible calls this type of fight which God commends and instructs as the fight of faith.
Below are ways we fight the good fight:
  • using our faith- 1Timothy 6:12
  • praying through and praying thoroughly- 1Thessalonians 5:16
  • wage warfare on hindering spirits- Ephesians 6:12
  • use the armor of God- Ephesians 6:13-18
  • maintain your confession/profession- Don't shift your ground or change your words when it comes to the Word of God and the positive confessions you have been making regarding you, life, ministry, family and circumstances. Our lives follow the direction of the words we speak. Proverbs 18:21

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. Car drivers either buy a GPS/Navigation device system or
