Prayer & Emotions.

Proverbs 16:32
Philippians 4:7

Our prayers are important, our emotions are also important.
Our emotions are important because our emotions are a part of our soul.
Your soul is made up of your will, your emotions and your mind.
The state of our soul is part of what determines our understanding of spiritual things.
Our emotional maturity has a lot to do with how we relate with people and how we relate with God.

The state of our emotions can affect our obedience to God.
Moses couldn't obey God perfectly when he was angry. Exodus 32:1-22
Moses lost what he had hoped for and prayed for due to his anger. Numbers 20:8-11
Our anger is part of our emotions.

Abel was killed by Cain because jealousy took over Cain.
Cain could not stand that God accepted his brothers offering over his own.
Jealousy is part of our emotions.
Cain lost favor with God and became a murderer because he didn't master his emotions.
Genesis 4:1-14
Absalom died a young man because of impatience. 2 Samuel 15- 2 Samuel 17
Absalom was a prince, the son of King David.
He was one of king David's older sons and stood a great chance of becoming the next King because he had the looks, the charisma and he was well loved by the people.
If he was patient and played wisely by the rules he could have become king.
Impatience is caused by responding to our emotions anxiously.

The Bible is against anxiety. Philippians 4:6,7
Our anxieties is from our emotions. Psalm 139:23
Our prayers, the result of our hardwork and desires can be hindered if our emotions are not controlled. Eg. Moses
Positive emotions that can enhance our christian life are compassion, kindness, empathy, sympathy and patience.

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus
