WHEN JESUS CAME: the christmas story

Christmas Eve Service
Text: Luke 2:4-34

The birth of Jesus Christ is one of the most spiritually significant events in human history! A birth so important, it attracted angelic presence to earth.
The birth of Jesus, which is what the celebration of Christmas is all about changed the course of human history, brought hope and divinity to humanity.

The birth of our Lord is worth celebrating  because of the quality of person God sent to the earth, the birth of Jesus is worth celebrating and remembering because it is a fulfillment of prophecies that had been given thousands of years before its fulfillment.
The birth of Jesus calls for rejoicing as the shepherds in our Bible passage rejoiced after they had seen the baby Jesus.

The birth of Jesus ended the issue of spiritual darkness, just like my saviour proclaimed in John 8:12 that He is the light of the world, because of this we do not have to stumble through life anymore but we can be guided by the good shepherd as Jesus called Himself in John 10:11.

There wouldn't be a miracle ministry that Jesus had if there wasn't His birth, the inspiring stories of His wisdom and exploits that motivates Christians today would not exist without the birth of Jesus of Jesus. The atoning blood and sacrifice of Jesus would not be available from generation to generation without the birth of Jesus Christ.

The Christian faith and the hope that gentiles have as stated in Galatians 3:13&14 would not exist without the birth of Jesus. Every good thing that we Christians enjoy and know would not be available to us without the birth of Jesus.
The birth of Jesus brought peace and good will to the earth, and that peace and good will is still available to us when we accept Jesus as Lord and saviour.

The birth of Jesus has brought about the rising of many, and the fall of many.
Whether the birth of Jesus will be for our rise or our fall is determined by us.
It has everything to do with what we have done with Jesus. Do we accept Him or reject Him?

The birth of Jesus shows us that perfection, righteousness and beauty can come out of our imperfect life, as something good came out of Nazareth the small town from, something good can still come out of your life. When Jesus was born he was wrapped in swaddling clothes in Luke 2:7
Swaddling clothes were grave clothes, those were the clothes the dead, the mummys that were kept in tombs were wrapped in.
Our perfect Lord was wrapped around in imperfection. Death was wrapped around life. But it was not for long. Nothing lasts forever. Perfection and establishment is possible through Christ. 1 Peter 5:10

Your life may look dead, your circumstances may be far from perfect but out of your imperfect life can shine the perfection of Jesus, out of your sinful life can shine the wholeness and righteousness of Christ.
This is the true meaning of Christmas, this is the true essence of Christmas.

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. Car drivers either buy a GPS/Navigation device system or
