PRAYER AND LOVE!

Text: Matthew 22:36-40

Prayer is a command, an instruction and path from God for mortal men to reach God.
Love is the cardinal virtue and command given by God to christians.
Prayer generates a powerful force.
Love is a powerful force.
Together, prayer and love work to bring results.
God answers the prayer of those who love Him.
So love is a vital force in the prayer equation.
The primary call of sons and daughters of God is a call to love.
Love is the greatest virtue, the first of the fruits of the Spirit and love is the reason we enjoy the mercy, the grace, the blessings and the benevolence of God in our lives.

Love is our purpose in God.
Our purpose is to love God and bring Him pleasure.
We can't separate love from our purpose. We can't separate our purpose from love.
We can't separate love from our dealings and relationship with one another, God desires we love Him and love one another.
God is a God who loves and desires relationship.
We can't have successful relationships without communication. Prayer is communication with God.
So there is a link between our prayer life and our love walk.
If you want your prayers answered, love God.
If you want God to favour you, love people. 2 Chronicles 1:7
Mark 12 verse 31 makes it clear that we are to love our neighbor as ourselves.

How we treat one another has a lot to do with how God responds to us in the place of prayer.
Luke 6:31, Luke 6:35
God blessing King Solomon with riches, honour and majesty had to do with Solomon loving God and loving God's people. 1 Kings 3:3,5,7-9
Solomon's loving the Lord lead to God telling him to ask what he wants, ins asking what he wants it reveals Solomon loved God's people, his loving God's people lead to Solomon receiving answered prayer of wisdom and extra additions. Matthew 6:33

Solomon's love for God's people attracted God's favour to his life, Solomon's love for God; made God give him a blank check. Because Solomon asked for what is God glorifying and for the benefit of others, he got the answer to his prayer.
Prayer and meditation is great, prayer and fasting is wonderful, but prayer mixed with love for God and our fellow man is awesome!
Solomon's love for God's people as we see in 1 Kings 3:9 is in line with the new testament instruction in Galatians 6:10 to do good to all men, especially those of the household of faith.
For how can we say we love God who we do not see, when we do not love our fellow man who we see as 1 John 4:20 informs us.
Our Lord Jesus Christ points out to us in very clear terms the correlation between prayer and love.
To get answers to the prayers we pray, love has to be in play.
We love God when we obey is commandments. John 14:21, John 14:23, John 14:15, Philippians 1:9
Love is the silver thread that runs through the scripture.

The Bible is a book with many topics in it.
There is history, geography, warfare, miracles, marriage, prosperity, holiness, righteousness, blessings, prayer, money, health, the supernatural, angels, demons, deliverance and many other topics in the Bible.
But the greatest of all these subjects we find in the Bible is love.
Love is the primary focus of the Bible.
God Himself is love. God has a love nature within Him. 1 John 4:8
The Bible is God's love book to man.
The Bible is full of many letters and promises that shows God loves us.
The Bible also reveals that God rewards those who love Him.

Love should be our major motivation for praying to God, not fear.
Love should be what God sees in our heart that makes God's grace abound towards us.
The nature God has put in His children is a nature of love. 2 Timothy 1:7
As God heard the speech of Solomon and Solomon's speech pleased God, God can and will hear your own speech too. 1 Kings 3:10
Love is of the heart and God's love looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7
Love is what makes our sacrifice, our giving, our effort and our work acceptable to God.

Our gifts, talents, abilities, knowledge, wisdom, giving, education, tenacity and determination mean nothing without love in our lives. 1 Corinthians 13:1
Love is what makes the exercises that can accompany prayer effective. Love is what helps meditation.
Love is what enhances prayer and fasting.
Love for God is what makes us pray to God continuously and stick with God through thick and thin. Romans 8:35-39
Love is what holds up the law and the Words of the prophets in our life. Every promise, law and instruction can be likened to designs or decorations on a curtain, while love is the pole that holds the curtain up.
It's love for the Father, and love for humanity that took Jesus to the cross. It's love that kept Jesus on the cross not nails.
It's love that made Jesus lay down His life. John 10:18

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. Car drivers either buy a GPS/Navigation device system or
