Text: Genesis 18:1-14, Genesis 28:10-17, Judges 6:11-23, Genesis 26:1-5
The Bible is full of divine appointments God scheduled into the life of people He chose by election.
Men like Abraham, a heathen that God had ordained from the foundation of the World to be Father of faith. His sudden call was a divine appointment. Genesis 12:1-4
Divine appointments are not occurences you plan, scheme for or struggle to experience.
Divine appointments are unexpected and often sudden visitations we experience that come from God that better our lives and lead us in the right direction.
Men like Paul, Gideon, David and even King Saul became who they became by divine appointments.
The birth of Isaac, Abraham and Sarah's promised child is by divine appointment.
Abraham didn't plan the visitation he received from God in the form of men, it was an unexpected occurence God scheduled into the life of Abraham and Sarah within a twenty four hour period.
It was a divine appointment David didn't forsee, arrange for, or play politics for that brought about his being anointed King of Israel. 1 Samuel 16:12,13
A divine appointment can come by a dream, an angelic visitation, or a Word from the Lord.
Gideon's visitation by an angel of God was a divine appointment.
The experience of the Apostle Paul on the Damascus road was a divine appointment.
The visitation a young lady had by an angel which eventually led to the conception of Jesus and his birth was a divine appointment.
The experience Moses had of a burning bush is a divine appointment.
The call of each of the 12 disciples of Jesus by Jesus to follow Him was a divine appointment.
Divine appointments upgrade and better us.
Divine appointments can be miracle calls, a life altering experience, and it's often a blessing to those who it is for.
Divine appointments are not only for the benefit of the recipient but it as a purpose.
It may be a divine appointment to elevate you to a position, like it was for David the shepherd boy.
It may be a divine appointment to bless you with something you need or something missing in your life, like Abraham's receiving of heavenly visitors that led to Isaac's birth.
A divine appointment may occur to call you into ministry like it did for te Apostle Paul and the twelve disciples of Jesus.
Divine appointments occur to promote and bring God's agenda to pass.
A church is or should be a place where divine appointments take place with God.
A place God has chosen and an assembly that God has ordained should be a place where angels ascend and descend. Genesis 28:12
A church, a ministry ordained of God will be a place, an avenue for God's people to have divine appointments.
An assembly of God's people or church is not an ordinary place. It is a place where God's presence is strong, it's a place where God chooses to meet with His people, it is a place where the blood of Jesus is being sprinkled upon the saints of God, it is a place where destinies are released and nurtured.
An assembly of God's people is a place of prayer, a place of spiritual growth, a place where God speaks to His people. Hebrews 12:22-24
All men who made an impact in the scriptures were men who had divine appointments.
It's divine appointments that call true men of God into the ministry, not Bible schools.
For the minister of Jesus Christ, a divine appointment is what commissions you into ministry.
For Moses it was the burning bush, for Apostle Paul it was his encounter with the light of Jesus on the Damascus road, for David his unplanned annointing by prophet Samuel was his commission.
For the 12 disciples of Jesus it was the call of Jesus that seemed so casual when it came.
It is worth noting that God's divine appointment is different from one person to the other. As people are different one from the other, so is God's dealing with each person.
The reason it is so is because God is a God of diversity.
The God who created the hibiscus flower is the same God who created the rose flower, the God who created the lilies of the filed is the same God who created the tulip.
The God who created the black man is the same God who created the caucasian man, the God who created the eskimos of the North pole is the same God who created the Jew.
As people are different so is God's dealings and callings with people, as people are different, so are ministries different.
The only constant thing which we have in common and should live by as God's people is God's Word!
