PRAYER AND THE WORD (transcript)

Text: John 6:63

There is a type of prayer that pleases God.
There is a way to pray. Matthew 6:5-15
There are prayers God is obligated to answer
1 Jon 5:7, 1 John 5:8- God's Word is potent in prayer cause heaven and earth responds to it.
It is the will of God that we have results for the way we pray. John 15:16- Jesus referred to answered prayer as fruitfulness.

For us to get the right answers to prayer we have to pray sincerely, from the heart in line with God's will. 1 Samuel 1:13, Romans 10:9

We know from scriptures that God is not partial. Job 34:19, 1 Corinthians 1:27, Deuteronomy 10:17
We know from scriptures that God is a prayer answering God. John 9:31, Hebrews 13:8

So why do some people get answers to their prayers and it seems some others are ignored by God? James 4:3

We need to understand that:
1) It glorifies God when our prayer is answered. John 14:13
2) God is eager to answer us when we pray because God loves us more than we love ourselves.
 John 14:14, 1 John 4:9-10,16,19
3) The Word gives and brings answers, even in prayer. Isaiah 55:11

So the responsibility is on us to find out how to pray, just the same way the disciples of Jesus came to Him to inquire about prayer. Matthew 6:9, James 4:2
True and good prayer is taught. Luke 11:1
We don't automatically know how to pray, neither is prayer natural to man anymore since the fall of humanity through Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Genesis 3:1-6
We were in the loins of Adam and Eve when they sinned so we all have the fallen nature within us. Romans 5:19, Romans 5:12

The fallen nature, which is called the 'old man' to people who have accepted Christ does not like to pray.
Our flesh, the old man, the fallen nature is the biggest threat and hindrance to our prayer life. not even the devil. James 4:2-5, Ephesians 4:24

Grace is the answer to overcoming the flesh. Romans 6:14, James 4:6, Ephesians 2:1-5
It is our flesh that makes us do things or not do things that makes the devil access our lives.
Galatians 5:19-21
The power to deal with the devil as been given to us.
Our Lord Jesus dealt with the devil and continues to deal with the devil through His people but your flesh is what you have to deal wit yourself.
Colossians 2:14,15
*THE HOLY SPIRIT HELPS OUR PRAYER LIFE- Romans 8:26

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. Car drivers either buy a GPS/Navigation device system or
