2 Kings 6:15-17
Our text passage shows us it's very important to have the right perspective in life.
An individual who is with God is never outnumbered by the enemy!
What we see with our natural eyes and what we are experiencing does not necessarily reveal the truth.
There are times in life you may feel outnumbered, unmotivated & overwhelmed.
Life's trials, challenges, twists and turns can make us feel that way.
Health issues, career issues, spiritual warfare, family issues, biological limitations, betrayals, and the wickedness of men can make us feel outnumbered.
When the bills keep coming, debts are accruing, responsibilities are increasing, naysayers and critics are all around you, enemies encircle you & detractors are on your tail.
During such times, remember "greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world"
The individual with God is the majority.
Unfortunately, Gehazi the assistant of Prophet Elisha didn't understand this.
Many of us can be like Gehazi when we feel outnumbered in life.
But if God is with you and in you, are you truly outnumbered?
Since the greater one is in you, you are not outnumbered, it just looks like it.
Learn to encourage yourself in the Lord your God when you feel outnumbered.
The prophet Elisha & his assistant Gehazi were once surrounded by the armies of the Syrian king who wanted Elisha captured.
Afraid, because he was focused on the natural; Gehazi panicked.
Gehazi had limited sight/vision.
Many of us are like Gehazi.
We fret and panic because we think we are outnumbered, we forget our sight is often limited, we forget one with God is a majority.
Is God with you?
May God be with you.
If God is with you, you are not outnumbered.
Elisha had the right perspective because his sight wasn't limited to the natural.
He could see supernaturally and he asked God to open the eyes of Gehazi, God did and Gehazi saw chariots of fire, a vast heavenly army. An army ready to fight for him & his master.
When you feel outnumbered do you see and are you aware of God's angelic host around you?
Sons of God are never outnumbered, it doesn't matter what people think, say or feel about your situation.
Focus on God not man.
The Bible is full of stories of God's people who seemed disadvantaged or outnumbered.
God's people have a heavenly family, a cloud of witnesses, citizens of God's family who are always around them.
Let the supernatural, let God's kingdom become real to you.
The kingdom of Judah felt outnumbered by the vast army and many threats of the King of Assyria who wanted to lay siege to Jerusalem. An angel slew 185,000 soldiers of Assyria freeing Judah
Irrespective of what things look like, the group with God is the majority!
The business, the organization, the society, the nation, the family, and the individual with God is the majority.
That he or she looks disadvantaged doesn't mean he/she is.
From God's perspective what looks like a disadvantage is an advantage, what looks like the end is a new chapter, what looks like the old is the beginning of the new, what looks like slowness is the start of acceleration and what looks like a full stop might just be a comma.
The lens of man is often tainted, and the enemy uses it to deceive and misguide.
What man calls foolishness may actually be the wisdom of God at work.
What man calls common sense or wisdom can also be the path to destruction.
Moses's experience and encounter with God shows us the instructions and perspective of the Lord is different from human beings.
Exodus 4:2-5
Animal experts and wildlife documentaries teach us to grab snakes on the head and not from their tail.
This is reasonable and logical, if you grab a snakes tail it will turn around and bite your hand!
Once the head has been caught, the snake is basically rendered powerless to use its fangs.
The Lord instructing Moses to grab the snake at its tail is evidence to us that He does things differently from man and His instructions can be strange at times.
Isaiah 55:8,9
It is certain God has a totally different perspective to things and issues compared to human beings..
The perception of human beings is often limited to how they think, what they see physically, and their personal experiences.
Human beings are often limited to the five senses, while God is not!
For this reason, carnal people mock the things of God for it is foolishness to them.
1 Corinthians 2:14
If Gehazi's eyes were not opened, he would have remained in fear and desperation.
Many people today, live in fear and desperation because they don't see spiritually.
Since they don't see or discern spiritually; they often have the wrong perspective.
Look to God not man.
Stand for God, fear God and not men.
You are not outnumbered, you are the majority if God is with you.
1 John 4:4
Make sure you are with God and God is with you through Jesus Christ!
Revelation 3:20
