Proverbs 24:10
Life will demand strength from you, whether its physical, mental, or spiritual strength or all of them.
You need strength for the journey of life.
You need strength to whither the storms of life, you need strength to ride out the tempest that may come your way on life's journey.
On the journey of life we need to know where to get strength when our strength reserves are being depleted.
Just as cars need to top up their fuel at the gas/fuel station, we need to top up our strength too on the journey of life.
Electric cars recharge at certain points, diesel cars also get fuel at gas stations.
If they don't, the car will stop and refuse to move at some point.
In the same manner, when our strength is not replenished we will start functioning below our best at some point.
When you are tired, fatigued, or weak, where do you go to receive strength?
Feeling weak is not an offence, feeling fatigued is not a crime, neither is feeling tired a sin.
Life's issues and challenges can make us feel worn out, and there is nothing to be ashamed about regarding that.
What is wrong and unacceptable is giving up.
The best of men get tired.
Prophet Elisha got tired, it was the food an angel brought to him that infused him with strength for the journey ahead of him.
1 Kings 19:4-7
Jonah got tired and wished for death.
Jonah 1:5-8
The hands of Moses grew tired during a battle, and he needed support. to hold his hands up so that the Israelites could win the battle.
Exodus 17:12
King David was very honest about his weaknesses and often wrote about them in the book of Psalms.
Psalm 6:5-7
Prophet Jeremiah, and Heman son of Korah (who wrote Psalm 88), are examples of good men, great men who faced firedness and depression.
If we give up in the day of adversity, its because our strength is small.
So how and where do we receive sufficient strength?
What is the source of true strength?
Strength is an attribute, virtue and quality God has in abundance which never runs dry.
His strength is part of His glory!
He also gives strength to the weak or faint.
Isaiah 40:29
True strength is found in the presence of God.
His throne is a throne of grace.
Hebrews 4:16
Grace brings strength.
2 Corinthians 12:9
You are invited into God's presence through Jesus Christ today.
Come in the Name of Jesus, come with the blood of Jesus, come with songs of thanksgiving and gratitude.
For the Name of Jesus pacifies Him and the blood of Jesus satisfies Him.
We receive and draw strength, rest, refreshing and help in His presence.
That is why "they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles and they shall run and no be weary, and walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
God is not asking us to be strong in ourselves but in the Lord.
Ephesians 6:10
God is not asking us to approach him always strong but to come as we are, with our fatigue, tiredness and weaknesses.
His grace gives us strength and its grace is found in His presence.
Stay in the Lord's presence for the strength you need!
