The Spirit, The Oil & The Kingship

 1 Samuel 16:13

It is God who makes kings.

It is God who creates royalty.

It is God who chooses leadership.

It is God who brings about royal lines, and royal lineages on earth.

He does it in His sovereign will and plan.

He choses kings.

He lifts up kings and brings down kings.

He brings people before royalty.

He makes royals out of non royals.

He does so according to His purposes.

He does so by His Spirit.

There is a dimension of God's Spirit that makes royals, both spiritual and earthly royals.

It is called the Spirit of the Lord.

This was that dimension of the Holy Spirits anointing that came upon David.

The Spirit of the Lord makes royalty of men and can make a dynasty of kingship from a family and lineage.

The Spirit of the Lord makes wisdom available to those who have it.

Wisdom rewards and honors men.

Proverbs 4:8,9

Wisdom is a requirement for leaders and rulers.

Wisdom is often associated with kings God has chosen- King Saul before he departed from the Lord, Joseph in Egypt, David before he became king and after he became king, and of course king Solomon.

No matter the politics around a throne, the scheming around the crown and gimmicks being played around the succession to a king by the contenders for that position; when the Spirit of God has made a choice the gimmicks, the schemes and the politics will all play in favor of the person God has chosen.

Its not uncommon for princes of a land to position themselves, scheme and promote themselves as the right person to succeed a king.

It happened after king David had aged and a new king was soon to be picked to lead the people.

There was a lot of scheming going on with his sons.

The Lord chose Solomon and Solomon succeeded king David without scheming and trying to position himself strategically.

David was a shepherd (the job family had relegated him to) but God had other plans for David.

Just has God has better plans for you!

God always has something better for His people, His chosen ones!

What the Lord has chosen you for, prepared you for and given to you would often come to you without you having to compromise, and resort to the fallen and demonic wisdom many people operate with.

Joseph wasn't vying for the position of Prime Minister of Egypt but it came to him without any contest.

David wasn't pushing to be king of Israel but it come to him on merit and the Lord's plan.

Jephthah was chosen by his family and entire town to be their king without contesting for the position, his right was restored to him. A position his own family (siblings) previously stopped him from ascending to.

Exaltation comes from the Lord.

Psalm 75:6,7

It was God who make Uzziah king, it was God who helped king Uzziah and it was God who brought Uzziah down when pride came into His heart.

It was God who made king Nebuchadenezzer king, it was God who helped him found and build up Babylon and grant him conquests in battle, and when pride entered Nebuchadenezzer's heart he was brought down from the throne for seven years and became a beast in the field before being restored.

Daniel 2:21

It was God who made a 'king' out of Joseph in the land of Egypt.

It was God who made a king out of Saul when the children of Israel demanded for a king like other nations.

1 Samuel 2:8

It was the Lord who also brought Saul down when he turned against the Lord.

David the shepherd was not born into a linage of kings or royalty.

But it was in the plan and purposes of God that royalty and kingship would start in that family line through David.

So the Lord orchestrated David's access to the king and the palace by making David the personal minstrel of the king.

David's skillful playing of the harp drove away the evil spirit that was tormenting Saul the king because the Spirit of God that was with him and made him king of Israel had departed from him.

Saul's being dependent on David was part of God's plan for David's preparation to be king.

During such times David understood and learnt royal protocol, how a king conducts himself and how to use royal authority.

David would later be anointed king of Israel in a secret family ceremony while Saul is still alive.

The Lord would go ahead to orchestrate the military and fighting ability of David to be seen nationally with God's killing of Goliath through the hands of David.

That great victory gave David favor before the entire nation and brought David into the leadership and military work of the king. He was no longer a shepherd boy, a keeper and maintainer of sheep!

Through a turn of events, Saul and his son who should have been Saul's successor died in battle and David was made king.

That is how royalty and the crown moved from Saul's linage to David's lineage.

Psalm 113:7-8

David's lineage is the lineage Jesus the Christ would come from.

Jesus is called the son of David.

Matthew 1:1

Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords.

That journey of kingship from Saul to David and eventually to Jesus Christ started with the Spirit and the oil of God.

Wherever the Spirit goes, the oils flows, and whoever the Spirit picks, the crown and throne goes to.

1 Samuel 16:13

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Out Of The Ashes

Isaiah 61:3 Ashes are not seen as useful substances. Ashes are waste that's thrown away. Ashes are what is left after a substance is burnt out. Your life may seem like ashes right now but something good and beautiful can come out of it when it's given to God. You may feel like an ash yourself. You may be feeling burnt out from unpleasant experiences of the past, the previous week, the last Month , or the the last year and life's battles may have left you burnt out. Know that out of your ashes can come beauty! God is the one who gives us beauty for ashes. God can make you and your life beautiful! Don't make the ashes your permanent state. God can make your season of ashes work out into a season of glory for you. Romans 8:28 The phoenix is a mystical and fictional bird that burns out after living for about six centuries. After burning itself out it rises from it's ashes renewed, youthful and revitalized to live through another life cycle. Like the p...
