When God Cooks

 John 21:1-14

Our text passage shows us an interesting true life story from the Bible where Jesus cooked a meal for His disciples.

After His resurrection, Jesus prepared a breakfast of bread and fish over a charcoal fire for his disciples on the shore of the Sea of Tiberias (Galilee.

It's interesting to know that Jesus cooked a meal, its interesting to know He can cook.

What is even more interesting to know is where He got the fish and bread from and how long it took Him to cook the meal.

From the passage we don't read about Jesus fishing at sea with the other fisher men, we would have concluded that's where he got the fish from.

We don't read about Jesus buying buying bread anywhere before he served his disciples the meal.

I believe it happened supernaturally- the supply of the fish and bread.

Jesus Christ was God in human flesh (hypostatic union)

No man does the things Jesus Christ did, no mere man has that kind of ability.

He operated God like powers as a man.

God is a supernatural provider.

He is a miracle worker, a miracle supplier and He has His unique ways of providing provision.

It doesn't matter how tough things get, God can provide for you supernaturally.

To cook is to prepare food.

Not only can Jesus who is God cook, He has great things prepared for you!

The same Jesus who cooked for His disciples is the same Jesus who has something prepared for you.

The same Jesus who prepared bread and fish for His disciples on the sea shore is the same Jesus who has prepared a miracle for you.

He prepared bread and fish for his disciples over charcoal fire.

He gave them that day their daily bread.

He wants to give you daily bread too.

Matthew 6:11

Daily bread can be supernatural.

Where Jesus got the charcoal fire, bread and fish from is a mystery.

His disciples came to the seashore and just saw it there and they ate!

May you find and see what God has prepared for you!

The ability of Jesus to cook is a reflection of His ability to prepare for you.

God has your life planned and prepared for.

God has 'cooked' something nice for you, He has prepared a great life and future for you.

Jeremiah 29:11

Thoughtful, careful, preparation goes into cooking to make the meal turn out the right way it should.

Food can be a gift to the person we made the food for.

Its a way we entertain and make people we love or care about happy.

Food can be a way of showing respect and honoring a person, from the way the food is presented, to the time and effort put into making the meal.

So it is with God, He blesses us with good things including food.

Psalm 103:5

Jesus told us God our Father knows we need food, drink and clothing.

Matthew 6:32 and Luke 12:30

It is the joy of a parent to provide for the needs of His children.

Jesus provided for the nourishment of His disciples after working at sea, just the same way parents provide food for their children when they get home from school or from work.

God has provided everything we need for life and godliness.

2 Peter 1:3

God has prepared for you, He has cooked something nice for your life and destiny!

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18...

Out Of The Ashes

Isaiah 61:3 Ashes are not seen as useful substances. Ashes are waste that's thrown away. Ashes are what is left after a substance is burnt out. Your life may seem like ashes right now but something good and beautiful can come out of it when it's given to God. You may feel like an ash yourself. You may be feeling burnt out from unpleasant experiences of the past, the previous week, the last Month , or the the last year and life's battles may have left you burnt out. Know that out of your ashes can come beauty! God is the one who gives us beauty for ashes. God can make you and your life beautiful! Don't make the ashes your permanent state. God can make your season of ashes work out into a season of glory for you. Romans 8:28 The phoenix is a mystical and fictional bird that burns out after living for about six centuries. After burning itself out it rises from it's ashes renewed, youthful and revitalized to live through another life cycle. Like the p...
