The Set Up

Matthew 27: 57-66

Matthew 28: 1-8

Our text passages shows that God is a God who sets things up.

He is a planner, a great mastermind and an orchestrator.

The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ was a master set up from the throne room of God.

If the spirit and human enemies of Jesus knew what they were doing was playing into God's plan for Jesus they would not have done what they did.

1 Corinthians 2:8

We will do well aligning with the Lord's plan, will, and purposes.

Romans 8:28

When the Lord is involved, what looks like a closed door is actually an open door, what looks like a dead end is the beginning of a new chapter and what looks like a closed case is an entrance into a whole new world.

Jesus died as a result of the occurrences of the crucifixion, He was eventually put in a tomb and it looked like the end of the story.

The authorities had commanded that the rock  rolled over the entrance to His tomb be sealed so that no one moves it or goes there.

Even in death Jesus's enemies were insecure about Him.

They did everything in their power to stop the prophecy of the resurrection.

They remembered the Lord had talked about His resurrection.

So, as to prevent it happening, two soldiers were assigned to the entrance of the tomb where His body lay.

The authorities, who didn't like Jesus due to envy for having the crowds on His side, they felt the disciples of Jesus might come for His body, and steal it away to make it seem like He resurrected.

But God's plan was steps ahead of theirs.

An angel was sent to the tomb, the stone was rolled away, the soldiers fainted at the sight of the angel and Jesus rose!

The actions of Jesus's enemies played into God's plan for Jesus.

May the actions of those who try to stop you play into God's plans for you!

Just like Joseph of old, who was sold as a slave by his own brothers.

The Lord was with Joseph, and what his brothers did played into God's plan for Joseph.

Joseph's brothers were trying to stop the fulfilment of his dream out of jealousy, but they played into God's plan.

They meant to harm Joseph but God used it for good.

Genesis 50:20

The death of Jesus and His being put into a tomb with a stone rolled over it, was all part of a divine set up!

Just like God had a divine set up for Jesus when He was here in the flesh, He has a miracle plan for you too!

Divine set ups lead to miracle solutions.

Your challenges, failures, mistakes, weaknesses, flaws and sufferings do not have to be the end of your story.

With God they are part of the plan.

They become sets ups for your benefit and God's glory!

Our enemies may think they have seen the end of us, man may think your story is over, circumstances and situations may show there's no way out for us, experience may suggest you have hit a dead end. but God doesn't panic concerning your matter and I, with God it is all part of the plan.

God has a miracle plan and He has miracle solutions!

The Israelites experienced what turned out to be God's miracle plan for them when they were stuck and couldn't go forward or backwards.

They had the Egyptians chasing hard behind them and the red sea ahead of them.

If they went forward they would perish in the red sea. if the tried going backward the Egyptians would annihilate them or take them back into slavery with greater punishment.

The only way out for the Israelites was a miracle.

They needed a miracle and fortunately their God is a miracle worker with miracle solutions.

They passed through the red sea on dry land while their tormentors perished in the sea.
