Our Examples

 Hebrews 11: 1- 40

In Mathematics text books, before we get to the sums the students have to do there are samples or examples of the topics the students have to solve.

The wisdom in showing examples is to help the student better understand the topic, make learning easier, and to leave the teacher without any blame.

In the same manner God has not left us without examples.

These examples are characters found in the Bible, they are the heroes of faith who have gone before us or ahead of us.

The Bible calls them the cloud of witnesses.

From these life examples or cloud of witnesses, we see how faith is used, how relationships are developed and nurtured with God, we see examples of how to overcome, how to prosper, how to fulfil destiny, how to bring down our giants, how to overcome the enemy and how to receive miracles.

We learn how to win by righteousness, how to advance without compromise, and how to achieve what God has called us to.

Through our examples we learn how to release our faith, we see spiritual realities, we receive insights into what God can do and what we can receive from God.

Their lives have been made an open book to us that in reading and observing their lives we may take note and be inspired.

2 Timothy 3:16

As we learn from them we become blessed.

From them we learn to obtain a good report.

Their lives have been put together by God, that they may mentor us on our life's journey.

These examples we have are not things or inanimate objects.

These are the stories of living people who are still alive today.

The Bible informs us God is a God of the living and not the dead.

Mark 12: 26,27

The cloud of witnesses are alive today, they cheer us on as we move progress on our spiritual journey.

The children of Israel have been given to us as examples, we learn from their historical accounts, from their sufferings, their journeys, their actions, and their choices.

1 Chronicles 10:6

1 Chronicles 10:11

Jesus the Christ, our Savior and soon coming king is part of the cloud of witnesses.

He is our standard and ultimate example.

In Him we do not only see how to overcome sin but we receive grace to overcome sin.

Through Him we do not only learn how to release faith but we receive faith through Him.

In Jesus we do not only learn how to pray but we are encouraged and empowered to pray.

Through the life story of Jesus we do not only get inspiration, we get empowerment from Him through His Spirit.

Matthew 3:11

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18...

Out Of The Ashes

Isaiah 61:3 Ashes are not seen as useful substances. Ashes are waste that's thrown away. Ashes are what is left after a substance is burnt out. Your life may seem like ashes right now but something good and beautiful can come out of it when it's given to God. You may feel like an ash yourself. You may be feeling burnt out from unpleasant experiences of the past, the previous week, the last Month , or the the last year and life's battles may have left you burnt out. Know that out of your ashes can come beauty! God is the one who gives us beauty for ashes. God can make you and your life beautiful! Don't make the ashes your permanent state. God can make your season of ashes work out into a season of glory for you. Romans 8:28 The phoenix is a mystical and fictional bird that burns out after living for about six centuries. After burning itself out it rises from it's ashes renewed, youthful and revitalized to live through another life cycle. Like the p...

Your prosperity is linked to your soul. 3 John 2 Your soul is the decision making center of your life. God cares about the state of your soul. You need your will, your mind and your emotions to function properly and to be regarded as a well balanced human being. Your soul is valuable and the enemy wants it. Your soul is part of the reason you are saved and a part of God's kingdom. 2 Corinthians 4:3,4 We are spirits who have a soul and live in a body.
