Press In

 Luke 16:16

The teaching of the kingdom of God from the days of John the Baptist lead to people understanding, seeking and pressing into the kingdom of God. Our text shows this.

The Lord wants us to press into His kingdom.

To press in, refers to making an effort, applying some force to get into a place or environment.

To press into God is to press into the kingdom of God, to press into the kingdom of God is to press into God.

The effort, the investment of time and force to press into God, into His kingdom, into Jesus Christ is not a waste of time.

On the contrary it is one of the best and wisest things we can do.

Philippians 3:14

The scriptures show us a story of a woman who had an issue of blood that had troubled her for twelve years and it was taking up a lot of her resources in paying physicians yet she didn't get any better for it.

The woman with the issue of blood pressed in, she pressed in to touch Jesus and her faith was honored for it, she got her miracle and her blood flow ceased.

She had to press in through the multitude to get to Jesus.

If your miracle means a lot to you, you will do whatever you need to do to 'touch' Jesus and get your miracle from Him.

Her touching the hem of Jesus's garment drew virtue out of Jesus which healed her.

There were many people touching Jesus and making an effort to touch Jesus in that story, there was a multitude of people around Jesus with each person trying to get Jesus's attention.

Mark 5:25-34

Only one persons touch out of a multitude of people drew virtue from Jesus, in the same manner we have thousands upon thousands of Christians who pray all over the world but not everyone draws something out of God.

The pressing in of the woman with the issue of blood drew healing virtue (what she needed) out of Jesus.

What are your efforts, your prayers, and your faith drawing out of Jesus Christ?

Press in, to draw from God.

Press in, to receive from God.

Press in, to show God you honor Him.

1 Samuel 2:30

Your pressing in is an act of faith.

Your pressing in should be done with faith.

Pressing in, in faith is what gets God's attention.

It's by faith we press into God and into His kingdom.

Romans 14:23

Faith is an action.

Faith makes us take steps on what we believe.

There are things God expects us to do as people who have faith.

These steps or actions reveal the way we should press in:

1. Run- run to God, run to win, run as someone who wants to obtain an eternal prize.

1 Corinthians 9:24,25

2. Endure- run your race with endurance, it is those who endure that will make it to the end. It is those who endure who get rewarded in God's kingdom.

Hebrews 12:1

3. Discipline- as athletes discipline themselves to be in the best shape they can be mentally and physically to attain their goal of winning, so is our spiritual walk and life. Discipline is required to enhance our spirituality and make the most of life even into eternity.

1 Corinthians 9:27

4. Speak- talk, speak, decree in line with the scriptures, the promises, and revelation for God honors our words.

Psalm 81:10

5. Renew- renew your mind, where you are going demands you think differently, where God is taking you will require a renewing of your mind, a different mindset. what God wants to give you will require your mindset is right.

Romans 12:2

6. Pray- prayer is potent, it generates power, its is free to pray, God answers prayers and your prayer(s) can impact the present, future and your eternity.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

7. Determination- there's a determination you will need to walk with God, to stay on the narrow path, to do what is unpopular and go against popular culture. The Apostle Paul had determination and made the most of his ministry.

1 Corinthians 2:2

Be determined to be a part of God's kingdom, be determined to partake of His promises, and blessings, pray with understanding with God's kingdom in view, renew your mind to the ways of God through the scriptures, speak the promises of God to yourself from His word, be disciplined in life, and the things of God, endure and persevere and run your race to win.

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18...

Out Of The Ashes

Isaiah 61:3 Ashes are not seen as useful substances. Ashes are waste that's thrown away. Ashes are what is left after a substance is burnt out. Your life may seem like ashes right now but something good and beautiful can come out of it when it's given to God. You may feel like an ash yourself. You may be feeling burnt out from unpleasant experiences of the past, the previous week, the last Month , or the the last year and life's battles may have left you burnt out. Know that out of your ashes can come beauty! God is the one who gives us beauty for ashes. God can make you and your life beautiful! Don't make the ashes your permanent state. God can make your season of ashes work out into a season of glory for you. Romans 8:28 The phoenix is a mystical and fictional bird that burns out after living for about six centuries. After burning itself out it rises from it's ashes renewed, youthful and revitalized to live through another life cycle. Like the p...
