Prayer & Emotions.

Proverbs 16:32 Philippians 4:7 Our prayers are important, our emotions are also important. Our emotions are important because our emotions are a part of our soul. Your soul is made up of your will, your emotions and your mind. The state of our soul is part of what determines our understanding of spiritual things. Our emotional maturity has a lot to do with how we relate with people and how we relate with God. The state of our emotions can affect our obedience to God. Moses couldn't obey God perfectly when he was angry. Exodus 32:1-22 Moses lost what he had hoped for and prayed for due to his anger. Numbers 20:8-11 Our anger is part of our emotions. Abel was killed by Cain because jealousy took over Cain. Cain could not stand that God accepted his brothers offering over his own. Jealousy is part of our emotions. Cain lost favor with God and became a murderer because he didn't master his emotions. Genesis 4:1-14 Absalom died a young man because of impatience. 2

The Importance Of The Kingdom Message.

Matthew 24:14 If the kingdom of God is not taught, men will not understand it or believe it. Romans 10:14 If men do not believe it or understand it, people cannot benefit from it. When the Kingdom message is taught we can begin to take our rightful place on earth as kings  and priests because we now have an understanding of who we are. Revelations 5:10 Our kingship is from God's kingdom. Our priesthood is from God's kingdom. A king and a priest from God's kingdom should know a thing or two about the kingdom he is from. Our kingship refers to our God given authority on earth as sons and daughters of God, it refers to our leadership. Our priesthood refers to our spiritual service on the earth for God. It is out of our priesthood that our ministries are born. The kingdom message is important because we are princes and princesses of God from His Kingdom. Our spiritual identity is tied to God's kingdom. The kingdom message is important because it is part of  pr

Fishers Of Men

Matthew 4:18,19 Mark 16:15 Jesus had something better for Simon Peter and his brother Andrew than catching fish. Men who were catching fish were to become men who were catching human beings. Jesus upgraded the dignity, the ability, and the importance of what Simon Peter and his brother Andrew were doing for a living, both before men and before God. Human beings are of greater value than fish. Human beings have an eternal value compared to fish which have a temporary, earthly value. The call of Jesus to Peter and Andrew was a call to something bigger, better, longer lasting and with eternal impact. That is what God is calling us to. God is calling us to a higher purpose, a bigger vision and a better life. Just as Peter and Andrew were called, we have all been called to be part of the Father's business which is going into the World to preach the gospel. Mark 16:15 Becoming fishers of men is part of the better things God has for you. 'Go' is an action word. To

Prayer: the game changer

1 John 5:14 Prayer guarantees that you won't fight life's battles alone, that God helps you in life. Prayer is a game changer. In the game of life prayer is essential. I refer to life as a game in this message because the Apostle Paul refers to life as a race. A race is a game. One of the best ways you can spend your time is to pray. Talking to God about everything, and every experience you have can be life changing. There is nothing to small or to big to talk to God about. God wants to hear about your health. God wants to hear about your finances, your emotions, your failures and your successes. God is interested in your car, He wants to hear about it. God respects your opinion. He wants you to tell Him how you feel. God wants you to discuss with Him about your day. God wants to hear from you about that boss who mistreated you. He wants you to tell Him when you feel like a loser or a victor in life. God wants to rejoice with you when you succeed, when you achi

Kingdom Upgrade

John 3:31 John 3:6 John 1:13 It doesn't matter how rich and powerful a man or woman is who doesn't know God, such an individual is not better than a person who knows God. What makes us better is not material or financial riches, our businesses or enterprises, what makes us better is our relationship with God. When you became a son or daughter of God, you became a better person. 2 Corinthians 6:18 Heaven doesn't see you as an ordinary person but a spirit being that God Himself has given birth to. John 1:13 A man or woman who is in the Kingdom of God is better than someone who is not. When you are in God's Kingdom, when you have become a son/daughter of God your life has been upgraded. Spiritually, your standing and position is better than that of a person who does not know God. Ephesians 2:6 That you know God and have a relationship with Him means your life has been improved by God's Kingdom. It means heaven knows you. It means the blessings of God'

Prayer & Desire.

Psalm 37:4 God promises to satisfy the hunger of His people. Matthew 5:6 The hunger and thirst referred to in Matthew 5:6 is is your desire. Prayer is very important to the believer. Our desire is also very important. What you desire is what you will aspire for. What you desire is what you will pray about. What you desire is what you want. What you desire is what God will give to you, if you delight in Him. God knows we fall emotionally sick when we don't receive our desire. Proverbs 13:12 Your desire is your hunger. Your desire is what you will be passionate about before God and man. Your desire is what will keep you motivated when others stop. One of the major reasons we don't achieve the things we want is because we loose motivation. We loose motivation to achieve what we want because we give up on our desire. The Bible doesn't show us that Nehemiah heard a voice from God to go and build the walls of Jerusalem, but he had a strong desire to do so. As

Kingdom Invasion

Mark 1:15 The Kingdom of God is going to take over. Daniel 2:44 The Kingdom of God is going to fill this earth. Daniel 2:34,35 The presence, power, influence and wickedness of  Satan will not be upon this earth forever because the Kingdom of God is invading the earth. Acts 2:1-4 Satan is presently the God of this world and his wickedness and operation is only for a period of time. 2 Corinthians 4:4 We should be kicking the devil out of our environment because God's Kingdom has invaded the earth. Matthew 8:28,29 The Kingdom of God has been gradually taking over on this earth and will continue to do so until the eternal punishment of Satan and his gang. That's what we saw Jesus doing, taking over everywhere He went by the knowledge and power of the Kingdom. God's Kingdom can prevail in this physical realm because it is God's idea. God's Kingdom can prevail in this physical realm because human beings are the channels through which the Kingdom of God manifes

The Mystery and Priesthood of Melchizedek

Genesis 14:11-20 From the scriptures we know it's not everyone who is on this earth and looks like a human being that's a human being. Not everyone we see is human! Angels are not human beings, but from time to time some of them manifest in the form of human beings to carry out God's will among us. This is why the Bible encourages us to show hospitality to strangers.  Some have blessed angels in the act of being kind and hospitable. In the same way, demons and fallen angels can also take on forms as people temporarily, to carry  out Satan's agenda. The visitors Abraham had in Genesis 18:2 were not human beings, they were divine but appeared in the form of human beings. From the old testament to the new testament, we see divine visitors coming to the earth in one form or another. Either in human form or their  divine form. The fallen angels who married women in Genesis 6 were not human but took on the form of human beings and married women to carry out Sat

Patience: A Key To Answered Prayer

1 Corinthians 13:4,5 Our primary responsibility as Christians is to love In the Bible verse above we find that patience is the first quality of love. Prayer works by faith, faith works with patience. Hebrews 6:12 Patience is a requirement  to possessing or receiving what is ours. Luke 21:19 Many people have missed out on what is theirs due to impatience. "The biggest mistakes you will make in life will occur as a result of impatience" {Mike Murdock} James 5:7,8 Imagine a farmer who is not patient enough to wait for the season of harvest. Such a farmer will miss the harvest that is due to him because the farmer couldn't wait for the due season of harvest. He will dig out his seed because he hasn't seen a harvest within a short while or he may stop watering the seed and the seed will die in the soil. That seed had potential, it would have brought him results. The issue was not with the seed but the impatience of the farmer. An understanding farmer won'

Parables Of The Kingdom

Storytelling was an aspect of Jesus's teaching ministry. Jesus was a Master story teller. Jesus told stories to communicate divine truth, He told stories to reveal the mind of God, He told stories to help people's understanding of the Kingdom of God. He told these stories in such a wise way that  people won't forget them easily. Everyone enjoys a good story and these stories were part of what drew people to Jesus. The stories Jesus told are called parables. Parables are fictional stories that have a moral or spiritual lesson within them. There is a lot we can learn from the parables of Jesus about how to live, how we should treat each other, our heavenly Father, prophecy of the future and the Kingdom of God. The parable of the prodigal son shows us the Father's heart towards us. The story of the persistent widow shows us how to win with God and in life. The parable of the mustard seed shows us how the Kingdom of God grows. The parable of the lost sheep rev

Prayers For Dominion

Dominion is supremacy, dominance, ascendancy, command, rule , jurisdiction. Dominion is the will of God for your life. Genesis 1:26 Dominion is what God wants you to experience. Genesis 1;28-31 The devil wants you to live suppressed, God wants you to live live in dominion. John 10:10 Dominion is God's will for you and it's good for you. Dominion is part of God's promise to you. Deuteronomy 28:13 Dominion is what God originally created man for. Dominion was stolen from man and replaced with suppression and oppression. Jesus came to restore our dominion because He came to raise us up. Hebrews 2:10 Jesus has given us the privilege of being highly placed with Him, a good understanding of this restores our dominion. Ephesians 2:6 We are meant to be spiritual excellencies in Christ Jesus. Isaiah 60:15 To live in dominion is to enjoy freedom, power, dignityand control. To live in dominion is to be free to make your own choices, free to contribute to your own destin

Prayer: A Key to Spiritual Strength!

Philippians 4:13 Prayer is a vital key to spiritual strength. 1 Chronicles 16:11 Prayer is one of the ways we grow our spiritual muscles. Psalm 84:7 Prayer builds us up spiritually. 1 Peter 2:2 In the physical dimension, when a body builder wants to grow his muscles, he/she lifts weights. In addition to lifting weights the individual takes in food rich in protein, body builders take in special diets. They consume lots of vitamins and medication if necessary. In the same way, prayer can be likened to lifting spiritual weights, because prayer is work. Colossians 4:12 Prayer goes well with God's Word. Acts 6:4 God's Word, for the 'spiritual body builder' can be likened to medication, vitamins and the special diet a body builder takes. 1 Peter 2:2 Through prayer, you can tap into God's strength. Isaiah 40:29 When we are weary, we can connect to God's strength through prayer. Philippians 4:13 When we pray, we can expect God to empower us. Isaiah 40:2
