Waiting On God, In Difficult Times

 Isaiah 40:31

Waiting involves being patient, enduring, continuing to trust, service and being still.

Waiting is not always an easy thing, especially when it comes to waiting on God.

Perilous/difficult times will try your patience and test your endurance.

Waiting on God in life's journey will be required for every believer at different times and phases of the believers life.

Patience is an aspect of waiting.

To wait on God will require being patient with God and for God.

It requires being patient for God's direction, instruction, and signals.

Patience is necessary to avoid unnecessary mistakes in our lives and to make our faith work, for faith and patience work together.

Hebrews 6:12

Enduring is also a part of patience.

Endurance is necessary to go through the process successfully that God requires us to go through.

Endurance is necessary for making it to the end and receiving rewards from God.

Matthew 24:13

Waiting on God also implies trusting God.

It is to not take steps we wish to take until God instructs, it is to not do a thing until God gives the go ahead signal, and it is trusting that God will speak, inspire, and give solutions when there are other options outside of God you can choose.

Waiting also involves being still.

Psalm 46:10

It refers to looking to God the way young birds look up to their mothers to feed them.

Going into God's presence is a big aspect of waiting on God.

This is done in the place of prayer, worship, and meditation.

Trusting God is refusing to take a shortcut but being assured God will come through for you despite the storm.

To wait on God is to trust God.

Trusting God helps you to keep still before God.

It is clear difficult times have come upon the earth.

These are times students of the scriptures knew would come.

The challenge to wait on God is more needed than ever and there is no short cut around it.

A part of waiting upon God is to serve God.

Taking our place in God's kingdom, carrying out the duty God has assigned to us is a big part of waiting upon God.

Anyone you wait upon is someone you respect and serve.

What are the factors that help us wait upon God in perilous times?

At a time when there's pressure to be restless and impatient, what helps making the wait upon God possible?

In an age when people want speedy results and resent going through process, what encourages us to wait on God?

1) Good understanding- Proverbs 14:12, Proverbs 3:5-6

Life's intricacies and complexities will require you tapping into the supernatural understanding available in God. Divine understanding, good understanding available in God.

2) Study & Learn from history- history shows us human beings don't always know what's best for them.

What has been the outcome of people who refuse to wait on God?

Great examples to learn from can be found in the Holy scriptures. They are called the cloud of witnesses.

Hebrews 12:1

3) Understand the benefits of waiting on God- waiting on God becomes easier when you know the benefits of waiting on God.

Isaiah 40:31

4) Know that God has the answers you seek- waiting on the one who has your solutions, answers and rewards can never be a waste of time.

Matthew 28:18

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18...

Out Of The Ashes

Isaiah 61:3 Ashes are not seen as useful substances. Ashes are waste that's thrown away. Ashes are what is left after a substance is burnt out. Your life may seem like ashes right now but something good and beautiful can come out of it when it's given to God. You may feel like an ash yourself. You may be feeling burnt out from unpleasant experiences of the past, the previous week, the last Month , or the the last year and life's battles may have left you burnt out. Know that out of your ashes can come beauty! God is the one who gives us beauty for ashes. God can make you and your life beautiful! Don't make the ashes your permanent state. God can make your season of ashes work out into a season of glory for you. Romans 8:28 The phoenix is a mystical and fictional bird that burns out after living for about six centuries. After burning itself out it rises from it's ashes renewed, youthful and revitalized to live through another life cycle. Like the p...
