Our King

Isaiah 33:22 Our text passage shows us three positions the Lord occupies in our lives- Lawgiver, Judge and King. We have considered previously the role of the Lord as our Judge. We are focusing on the Lord as our King for today's teaching. The Lord is our King. He is the King of His body- the Church. This means He is our authority and power and the source of it. Kings have authority. Kings have power, their words are powerful for they become decrees in the land. The word of the Lord brings power into our lives, situation, circumstance and destiny. Ecclesiastes 8:4 In His position as King He is able to save us. He saves us from sin, sickness, shame and Satan. He saves us from ourselves, the gates of hell, evils projected on us and an eternity of doom. Kings are leaders, kings are dignitaries, and kings are heads. The Lord Jesus is our leader, the highest dignitary and the head of His body. He deserves our praise, our worship, our time and the best of each of us. From our King Jesus...

Our Great Judge

Isaiah 33:22 Our text passage identifies God in three positions as our King, our Judge and our Lawgiver. We will be focusing on God being our Judge in this message. The Lord is the Judge of all creation. Genesis 18:25 Judges are needed , respected and valued in every society. As long as they do not act beneath their office they are revered as dignitaries whose wisdom, insight, training and ruling is to be upheld and followed. Judges can determine the future and penalty of wrong doers. The favor and mercy of a judge is a beautiful thing while the anger and judgement of a judge is a scary thing. Ezekiel 7:8 The scripture shows us people God raised up as judges at various times over His people- Moses, Gideon, Deborah, Samson, Jephthah, Barak, Eli, Abimelech, Joshua, Tola etc. It is important judges are incorruptible. Proverbs 17:23 One of the offices Jesus Christ occupies is that of the Judge. He is the Judge over His people. This is good news because He is an incorruptible Judge, a ...

The Battles Beyond Us (2)

Revelation 12:1-17 Our text passage depicts warfare that involves the woman, the child and the dragon (Satan). There are many lessons that can be gleaned from this passage of scripture but it is first and foremost a chapter on warfare and it applies to many of us than we understand. There are battles that are beyond us as individuals, as families, as humanity. Battles that are beyond us are battles that have a head start on us mentally, they can be battles that spring up on us unexpectedly to ambush us, they can be generational battles but more importantly they are battles that don't have their roots in flesh and blood. Ephesians 6:12 The purpose of these battles likes all battles and warfare is to take us out. Revelation 12:15,16 The woman in our text passage is described as a glorious woman, a sign. Glorious people, glorious destinies attract intense warfare. This glorious woman attracted the dragon (Satan). The glory of this woman and the child she was about to birth attracted...

The Battles Beyond Us

Revelation 12:17 Spiritual warfare is an aspect of life. It can be inherited and for some people it starts in the womb. Spiritual warfare can also choose a person/people. Winning in life and through eternity is not by human power. There are battles that are beyond us. There are battles we cannot win if God doesn't help us. There are battles we cannot tackle if not for divine intervention. There are battles that have a head start on our lives because the enemy and enemies we are dealing with are beyond mere human beings, they are ancient, generational spirits. These are forces that have been around, walked this earth and have transverse the heavens long before we were born, long before we were aware of ourselves, or the fact fact there's a battle on our hands. Jabeez was an individual who found himself living unfortunately, until God intervened; giving him a change of story after he prayed. Jabeez's warfare started from birth, perhaps in the womb. 1 Chronicles 4:9,10 How do...
