2 Kings 13:15-19
The prophet Elisha informed the king of Israel as we read in our text passage that the king would have destroyed his enemies the Syrians totally, if the king had kept striking the ground with the arrows he shot.
Unfortunately king Jehoahaz, the king of Israel fell short. He didn't strike long enough.
If it is working, don't stop it.
If it is working, don't change it.
Don't change or stop whatever is working, keep doing what works.
If it is the right thing, keep doing it.
Prayer works, keep praying.
Luke 18:1
Thee word of God works. keep speaking it and keep declaring it.
Going into the Lord's presence in the place of meditation works, don't stop meditating on the word of God and His specific promises to you.
At times we are closer to a breakthrough than we realize, if we stop what has been working for us we might miss out.
This is not the time to give up.
You might be just a step or action away from a miracle.
Each time you pray, you are shooting spiritual arrows.
You can be likened to an archer who is shooting arrows from his quiver.
Each time Christians pray we release powerful arrows.
The scriptures informs us that God shoots arrows.
Psalm 64:7
Prayer is one of the many arrows the Christian has access to from his quiver.
A son of God is a spiritual archer and warrior.
You are a weapon of God.
Psalm 127:4,5
Prophetic instructions are powerful.
They are physical directions to be carried out which have spiritual and physical impact.
Elisha's prophetic instruction to the king of Israel who ruled from Samaria was to establish the king's dominance over king Aram of Syria his enemy.
The amount of victory king Jehoahaz would have over the Syrians and their king Aram would be determined by how many times he strikes the ground with the arrows he shot out of the East window.
The purpose of that prophetic act was to strike the Syrians until they were totally destroyed, they were the enemies of the king of Israel and God's people.
2 kings 13:15-17
Prophetic instructions bring solutions.
Unfortunately king Jehoahaz was to have limited victory over Aram and the Syrians because he limited the amount of times he struck the ground.
God is not pleased when we give up, which we shouldn't do.
Faith does not give up.
Don't stop when you should keep going.
King Jehoahaz struck the ground only three times and stopped, if he struck the ground five or six times he would have struck and destroyed the Syrian nation totally/
The king of Israel limited his victory because he wasn't persistent enough.
"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up" - Thomas A. Edison
Don't give up!
Keep shooting, keep striking.
