Glad Tidings

 Luke 2:4-10

From our text passage we see glad tidings were brought to shepherds who lived in the same country where Jesus was born.

The glad tidings were delivered by an angel of God.

The angel didn't come to pass judgement, destroy, or kill.

He came for a higher purpose.

He came for the gospel.

He came to direct according to the glad tiding that had happened.

He calmed the fear of the shepherds who were frightened to see him.

The shepherds also saw a host of angels in the heaven praising God in excitement about Jesus's birth.

Glad tidings means good news.

Gladness is another word for joy/joyful.

Glad tidings bring joy.

The gospel means good news.

Good news brings about joy and celebration.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of gladness/joy.

Psalm 45:7

The kingdom of God is a kingdom of joy.

Romans 14:17

The birth of Jesus the Christ brought joy in heaven and on earth.

Why shouldn't we celebrate it?

Heaven celebrated God coming to earth in the form of a human being, a baby who would bring salvation to humanity.

Luke 2:11-14

Some people ask why we celebrate Christmas.

A Christian who celebrates Christmas should do so because Jesus came, because Jesus was born, because God came.

Due to the birth of Jesus, angels sang praises to God and blessings of goodwill and peace was released towards humanity.

That God came to be with humanity is an event worth celebrating.

Isaiah 7:14

Celebrating is of God, joy is of God.

God celebrates His children.

Zephaniah 3:17

God boasts about those He loves.

Job 1:8

The way God is, is the way God wants us to be.

Since God is righteous and Holy  He wants us to be righteous and Holy.

Since God is prosperous and blessed, He wants us prosperous and blessed.

Since God is joyful and celebrates, He wants us joyful and celebrating the right things and people.

The feasts of God's people are celebrations.

Angels are bona fide members of God's kingdom, they celebrate.

They are messengers of good news  in most instances.

They celebrated when Jesus was born and they celebrate every time a sinner turns to God.

Luke 15:10

Celebrations are of the kingdom, joy is of the kingdom of God.

God has good news for you- He came for you as Jesus Christ.

He came that you might have hope.

He came that you might have peace.

He came that you might live a life of thanksgiving.

He came that generation to generation will hear glad tidings.

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus
