At Thy Word

 Luke 5: 4 - 9

Our text passage shows us the impact of God's word.

The word of God can surprise or astonish you with the results it produces.

It has been commonly said in Christian circles that  "one word from God can change your life forever"

This is a very true saying.

A very acceptable saying.

The words of Jesus Christ are the words of God.

At the word of Jesus, the supernatural happens.

At the word of Jesus, mighty things  happen.

At the word of Jesus, wonders happen.

At the word of Jesus, miracles occur.

Peter needed a harvest, he needed a breakthrough, he needed results.

He had worked for it, he had toiled, he had done what he knew to do, after all Peter was an experienced fisherman.

Despite Peter's experience and hard work, Peter didn't have the breakthrough he sought on the job.

Many people are like Peter in a sense.

They are good and experienced at what they do. They have put in the work, they have followed the rules, they got the education, the qualifications, the training, and they've followed the tricks of the trade but they are dissatisfied with the results they have.

Like Peter must have felt after toiling all night and catching nothing, they are not happy with where they are and it seems life has dealt them an unfair blow.

It's people like this that God came for.

Isaiah 61:1-3

Like Peter, people in this category can have a breakthrough, a harvest, a miracle.

They can have the miracle they seek by God's word.

At God's word, Peter ended up having more than enough.

At God's word, Peter ended up having a miracle catch.

At God's word, Peter's long awaited harvest arrived.

At God's word, Peter's frustration was wiped away.

At God's word, Peter's shame and embarrassment was terminated.

At God's word Peter's scattered blessing gathered together.

At God's word Peter received more than he could think of, ask for, or imagine!

At God's word, the unusual can happen instantly.

God is no respecter of person.

Acts 10:34

He can give you your own version of the miracle He gave Peter.

The key to our breakthrough is obeying God's specific instruction to each of us.

Deuteronomy 28:1,2

Peter's breakthrough came in obedience to the instruction God gave him.

Your breakthrough will come the same way.

You need to hear God.

You need God's instruction(s) for you.

Proverbs 16:20

At God's word (instruction) you will breakthrough!

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus
