A New Joy

  Psalm 47:1

Joy is an aspect of the kingdom of God.

Romans 14:17

It is expected for every kingdom citizen  to be filled with the joy of the Lord.

The kingdom of God is a realm of joy!

God wants you joyful.

For this reason, God's Spirit produces joy in you the citizen of God's kingdom.

When God checks your life for fruit, joy is one of the fruits He will lookout for.

Galatians 5:22-23

God wants us fruitful.

Joy is a fruit. A spiritual fruit.

Everyone connected to God is a spiritual plant.

John 15:1-5

The Bible likens you to a spiritual plant.

Isaiah 61:3

Isaiah 60:21

You are a branch for God that should have spiritual fruit.

Jesus is a branch of God, you are a branch of Jesus Christ.

It's on the branch of trees and most plants that fruits are seen.

As a spiritual plant you should have spiritual fruit.

These spiritual fruits are called the fruit of the spirit.

There are nine of them.

Joy is one of them.

The joy the Holy Spirit supplies is a benefit citizens of God's kingdom enjoy.

There is an anointing for this joy.

Psalm 45:7

God gives the oil of gladness.

Satan cannot quench this joy.

He can't quench it or take it away because it's God given.

Why do you need a new joy?

  • The joy of God is essential for our spiritual service. 2 Corinthians 9:7
  • The joy of God refreshes us. John 16:22
  • The joy of God strengthens us. Nehemiah 8:10
  • The joy of God in us reflects the kingdom of God. Romans 14:7
  • Joy is part of our thanksgiving to God. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Isaiah 61:3 Ashes are not seen as useful substances. Ashes are waste that's thrown away. Ashes are what is left after a substance is burnt out. Your life may seem like ashes right now but something good and beautiful can come out of it when it's given to God. You may feel like an ash yourself. You may be feeling burnt out from unpleasant experiences of the past, the previous week, the last Month , or the the last year and life's battles may have left you burnt out.
