Fight To Win

 1 Corinthians 9:27

Discipline is an important aspect of any sport.

Without discipline the indiscipline sportsman cannot be at his/her best.

Like a sportsman the citizen of God's kingdom needs discipline to fight and win.

The Apostle Paul had a very different approach to ministry and the work of the kingdom of God.

His approach to evangelism had to do with his mindset.

In the mind of Christ which he had, he paints mental pictures with his words of the sons of God being athletes, being competitive, being fighters and engaging in combat sports.

No true combat sport participant enters the fight venue with the intention to loose.

Every sportsman who is worth his/her salt competes to win, they compete for the prize, the glory, and the benefits of winning. They compete with the hope and intention of succeeding.

1 Corinthians 9:24

Most athletes compete to make their country, family, and friends proud.

The kingdom citizen can also be likened to an athlete, a combat sport participant.

Ephesians 6:12

The Apostle Paul used such descriptions to reveal the position God's people are in and to help us know certain truths that will help us in our spiritual journey.

Wrestling is a combat sport.

In the spirit realm we wrestle.

By observing wrestlers we can pinpoint certain attitudes and mindsets they have which makes them win.

Boxing is a combat sport.

By studying boxers you will notice the effort the winning boxer makes to win.

All true athletes/sportsmen have a desire to win, and to win you have to fight to win.

The example from Ephesians 6 mentioning our spiritual armor shows we fight like centurion soldiers at war.

The purpose of any war is to win, to gain the advantage.

There is fulfilled promises, joy, rewards and glory for the winning kingdom citizen.

The wise warrior and sportsman knows there is a time to train and prepare.

Training and preparation time is not the time to seek comfort neither is it the time to bother about what the majority of people think. It is the time to stay focused and put in the effort!

Proverbs 4:25-27

Your training and preparation time is usually something of a wilderness period.

Jesus Christ and John the Baptist prepared themselves in the wilderness.

Your training and preparation time will determine your performance and enhances your winning.

Jesus Christ has paid the price for you to win.

So you are born to win!

Everything you need to win is within you.

1 John 4:4

Everything that's needed to glorify God, to win, and receive rewards here on earth and in the hereafter is in the kingdom citizen.

As you journey through life, know that you should fight to win.

1 Timothy 6:12

The pendulum has swung in your favor.

Go ahead, fight to win the battle heaven has already declared you the winner of.

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus
