Who Told You?

Text: Genesis 3:9-11

God asked Adam and Eve who told them they were naked?
That question is a question God is still asking people today in different situations and circumstances.

God asks people questions.
People who have a relationship with God and hear God, will find God asking them questions from time to time.
God asked Cain where His brother is. Genesis 4:9
God asked Job many questions. Job 38:1-41
God asked Moses questions. Exodus 4:11
Isaiah heard God ask a question. Isaiah 6:8

God is asking you today, who told you-
you can't make it?
you can't live Holy?
you can't climb your mountain top?
it is to late for you?
you can't be healthy?
your dreams will not come to pass?
you cannot grow spiritually?
you won't overcome your enemies?
your life won't manifest the kingdom?
you're a failure?

The question - who told you? brings about another question - who are you listening to?
Who you listen to in life can determine how far you go in life. Proverbs 4:21,22
Who you listen to can make you or break you.
There are great destinies who have listened to the wrong voices. Genesis 3:1-6
Samson was a great 'star' of God but He listened to the wrong person, the wrong woman. He listened to Delilah. Judges 16:8-21
David's son Amnon listened to the advice of a wrong friend Jonadab.
It brought about his death and brought trouble in the family he came from. 2 Samuel 13:1-14

Who are you listening to?
Who is telling you things that are not from God?
Who do you receive advise from?
Is it from God's anointed or Satan's agent? Is it from informed people or ignorant people, spiritually sensitive people or carnal, sensual people?
A person who loves you and means well for you can advise you wrongly.
Let's take advice and instructions from God's Word.
Let's take advice and instructions from God's Spirit.
Let's take advice and instructions from anointed people.

The question - "who told you?" brings up the fact that there are many voices in the world.
The 'voices' of television, our radios, our peers, our relatives, our friends, the print media and our circumstances are different voices in the world.
We also have the voice of God and the voice of Satan, the voice of our flesh, and the voice of our mind.
The voice we listen to will determine a lot in our life. The voice we listen to is up to us.

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus
