Unlikely Vessels

 Hebrews 13:2

Our text passage encourages us to be good to people, for some have entertained angels as they showed hospitality to strangers, these strangers were angels unaware.

When angels come to the earth they often come in unexpected ways and forms, sometimes angels walk among us in human form, our text passage confirms this.

These messengers of God come as unlikely vessels.

Treat people well, especially strangers. You never know, you just might entertain an angel one day.

You are blessed if you end up showing kindness to angels of God.

Jesus came to the earth as the Savior unaware to many people, He was an unlikely vessel.

He didn't come to the earth the way the Jews thought their Messiah would come or should come.

The Jews want and expect their Messiah to come from an aristocratic noble home, they didn't expect or want a savior born in a manger, they imagined a powerful and political savior who would rise, show leadership, probably lead the nation into battles and wars and dominate their enemies.

They didn't expect that the Messiah that they have been hoping for and received prophecies about would come as a carpenter who would start preaching about a spiritual kingdom.

Matthew 13:54,55

When we consider the lives of men like Gideon, David, king Saul, Paul the Apostle, the disciples of Jesus, and Jephthah the Gileadite we see they were unlikely vessels used by God, raised up by God for a purpose.

Some of them were 'underdogs' in life.

Many people who are in the faith today are no different, God had mercy on them.

God specializes in using unlikely people, unlikely vessels for His glory.

1 Samuel 2:8

God is the God of the underdog, He is the one who gives the underdog a chance in life and a place in His kingdom.

1 Corinthians 1:27,28

You might look at your life today and feel there is nothing special or spectacular about it.

You may feel there are better qualified people for God to use.

God is the one who qualifies the unqualified and qualifies the called.

He is the one who can make an unworthy vessel worthy and use man's reject.

I believe we are in a time and season God will raise up some very unlikely people to glorify Himself.

May you be one of them.

John 9:1-3

God has a way of picking up unlikely people, those who men have despised, those men have thought nothing good or nothing more can come from their lives, and He makes something of them.

The town of Nazareth was an unlikely vessel in a sense.

Nazareth was an unlikely place for the Messiah to come from, many didn't think anything good could come from her but the best person ever came through Nazareth.

John 1:46

God uses unlikely vessels.

He does so because He doesn't look at people and issues the way man does.

He looks into the heart and qualifies the heart.

1 Samuel 16:7

If your heart is right, God can use you.

If your heart is right, mercy can locate you.

If your heart is right, God can raise you up.

Proverbs 4:23

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18...

Out Of The Ashes

Isaiah 61:3 Ashes are not seen as useful substances. Ashes are waste that's thrown away. Ashes are what is left after a substance is burnt out. Your life may seem like ashes right now but something good and beautiful can come out of it when it's given to God. You may feel like an ash yourself. You may be feeling burnt out from unpleasant experiences of the past, the previous week, the last Month , or the the last year and life's battles may have left you burnt out. Know that out of your ashes can come beauty! God is the one who gives us beauty for ashes. God can make you and your life beautiful! Don't make the ashes your permanent state. God can make your season of ashes work out into a season of glory for you. Romans 8:28 The phoenix is a mystical and fictional bird that burns out after living for about six centuries. After burning itself out it rises from it's ashes renewed, youthful and revitalized to live through another life cycle. Like the p...
