John 6:1-13
Our text passage is very insightful.
It gives us insights into the kind of man Jesus Christ was/is, the kind of heart He has, and His solution to difficult situations.
Jesus was a problem solver when He walked the earth as a man.
He used His ability to teach and work miracles to solve people's problems.
In our text passage account, Jesus was faced with what seemed like a daunting task, a huge challenge for mere men to overcome when a crowd of over five thousand people were before Him- men, women, and children who needed to be fed.
Feeding them would have been easy if there was enough resources to feed them and if they were at a location where food could be bought.
The situation didn't look favorable.
Fortunately, it's Jesus Christ we are talking about here.
He was no ordinary man.
When we involve God, unfavorable scenarios, unfavorable circumstances, and unpleasant situations do not count.
God is a God of truth, He is not a God who operates by human facts.
When God is involved in a matter, difficult logistics do not matter, they become reasons and grounds for a miracle.
Despite the harsh reality before Jesus and His disciples, He knew what to do.
John 6:5,6
Thank God we serve a God who knows what to do.
John 6:6
Concerning your matter Jesus knows what to do, He knows what He will do.
Concerning your challenges, trials, afflictions, and tribulations Jesus knows what He will do.
Since Jesus knew what He would do, He succeeded in feeding over 5,000 peoples miraculously with excess food left over despite not being in an area where the people could buy food.
That's not the first time Jesus found Himself in a situation that was challenging.
What is challenging to you is not challenging to God.
Matthew 19:26
Jesus found Himself at a wedding where they had run out of wine at the wedding reception party.
His mother involves Him, knowing He would know what to do.
John 2:1-11
Mary the mother of Jesus was a wise woman.
If anyone knew Jesus was divine and special, it was Mary His mother.
Prior to the birth of Jesus she had the privilege of being visited by Angel Gabriel who informed her about the Child she was to give birth to.
Luke 1:26-38
Just like Mary did at the wedding in Cana of Galilee you should involve Jesus in your tough and difficult circumstances.
When you are confronted with lack and insufficiency, involve Jesus.
When you are at a cross roads, in a dilemma, or when you feel stuck, involve Jesus.
Mary's wise instruction to the attendants at that wedding led to a miracle that turned what was about to be an embarrassing situation into an occasion of joy.
"Whatever He (Jesus) tells you to do, do it" is one of the wisest instructions you will find in the Bible.
This instruction to the attendants at that marriage feast is a generic instruction that applies to everyone.
It's an instruction that led to Jesus turning water to wine, and a potentially shameful situation to an occasion of praise.
John 2:7-10
Jesus always knows what to do.
