Matthew 22:14
It is great grace extended to a human life that a person is called of God.
That a person has become a chosen one is a rare grace and mercy that God allows people to determine and aspire to.
You are the one who will determine whether you will be one of God's chosen after you have been called like many others have.
Everyone who has given their life to the Lord (Jesus Christ) at one time or the other is called, but being called of God is just the beginning of the journey.
Your decisions are what determines whether you will transition from being called to being chosen.
The chosen are fewer in number than the called, the called have a chance to become the chosen.
The chosen are fewer in number than the called, it is as a result of man's choices and decisions not God's wish.
The chosen few are those who decide they want to be vessels of honor for God's use.
2 Timothy 2:20,21
Who Are The Chosen Few?
1) They are those who regularly allow God to cleanse them by His word and His blood.
The word of God acts as spiritual water that nourishes us, refreshes us, and makes us clean.
John 15:3
Only the blood of Jesus can cleanse us.
John 1:7
2) The chosen few are those who make up their minds to go all the way with God.
Matthew 24:13
The chosen few don't focus on immediate gratification, they stick with God for the long haul.
They have endurance.
They are soldiers for God.
2 Timothy 2:1-5
Unfortunately many of the called serve God for immediate gratification or benefits.
It's more popular to enjoy life than to suffer with or for Christ's name these days.
The chosen few think long term.
The chosen few are not selfish or self centered.
3) The few who are chosen are those who stay focused on the kingdom of God.
Luke 9:62
Unfortunately, many of the called allow themselves to be distracted.
Lot's wife falls into the category of the called who refused to be chosen.
Lot and his family were called out of Sodom and Gomorrah with specific directions from God's angel not to look back, like a kingdom citizen who takes his/her hand off the plough of the kingdom due to distractions or seductions she looked back to Sodom and Gomorrah and turned into a pillar of salt.
Genesis 19:17-26
4) The chosen few make sacrifices for the advancement of God's kingdom and purposes.
Unfortunately, many of the called are not sacrificial or benevolent towards the issues of the kingdom of God.
Part of our sacrifice is thanksgiving/praise despite having reasons to murmur or complain due to physical evidence.
5) The chosen few are those who walk the narrow path.
Matthew 7:14
The chosen can inconvenience themselves if need be to please God or obey His commands.
Unfortunately many of the called are not willing to stay on the path of the narrow way.
They want to be like everybody else.
If you want to be like everybody else, do what everyone does and live like everyone, you will eventually depart from the narrow way.
The narrow way is the way that pleases God though it is often harder to walk through.
It is the path of faith.
The path of faith can be a path of inconvenience, sacrifice, endurance, waiting, and difficulty,
That's why it's the narrow way!
