Daniel 3:14-30
We see king Nebuchadnezzer was in a rage and fury against the three Hebrew boys- Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego.
Those Hebrew boys found themselves in trouble for doing the right thing, they were in a difficult situation for standing for righteousness, they were to suffer and die for defying an ungodly king who was full of ego.
In life you can suffer for doing the right thing, in this world you can find yourself in tight, difficult, or even embarrassing situations because you've refused to 'bow down' to Satan.
The enemy can become enraged and angry with you, the enemy can come at you because you have defied him and done the right thing.
It is not every suffering that is due to sin.
The disciples of Jesus once saw a blind man and asked Jesus who had sinned the blind man or his parents, they assumed suffering is naturally the consequence of sin or some kind of generational curse.
This way of thinking is prevalent today in Christian circles.
Jesus responded to his disciples, informing that neither the man or his parents had sinned but the man's condition was for God to be glorified through.
John 9:1-3
There are certain things God can permit to happen to His people, though uncomfortable temporarily it's for the greater eternal good.
The scriptures make it clear the righteous face affliction in this world.
Psalm 34:19
The Bible shows us we can suffer for a while.
1 Peter 5:10
There are symbolisms in the Daniel 3 story.
The nation of Babylon is symbolic of this corrupt world system.
Nebuchadnezzer the king is symbolic of the god of this world- Satan.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego are symbolic of the righteous, the church of God, the saints, the faithful, the followers of Jesus Christ, those who refuse to bow to the enemy.
The fiery furnace represents the attacks, problems, troubles, evil, and difficulty the enemy throws the people of God into.
The 4th Man represents God's presence with the believer, the divine, the supernatural, the Holy Spirit, or Jesus Christ Himself.
There are different views about who the 4th Man in the furnace is, some believe he's an angel.
Nebuchadnezzer, the ungodly Babylonia king at the time at best described the 4th Man as an angel of God.
Daniel 3:28
The 4th Man in the fire was there to help the 3 Hebrew boys, the same way God is willing to help you and all who call upon the name of the Lord.
Psalm 91:14
Personally, I believe the 4th Man is Jesus Christ who appeared on earth before we knew Him as Jesus.
When the 4th Man shows up, wonderful things happen because His name is wonderful.
Isaiah 9:6
When the 4th Man shows up, help shows up.
When the 4th Man shows up, deliverance shows up.
When the 4th Man shows up, comfort shows up.
The 3 Hebrew boys were comfortable and comforted in the fire.
When the 4th Man shows up, protection shows up.
Daniel 3:24-26
When the 4th Man is with you, every trap and ambush of the enemy against you backfires on the enemy.
Daniel 6:24
When the 4th Man appears in your fire, God is honored and glorified
Daniel 3:28,29
When the 4th Man shows up, promotion and honor shows up.
Daniel 3:30
May the 4th Man show up in your fire of affliction!
