Cast Your Net

John 21:4-6 T here will usually be an instruction that precedes your miracle harvest from God. You have your own role to play in receiving or harvesting what God has for you. God does not do for us, what He expects us to do ourselves. Peter and the other disciples in the boat received a miracle catch from God as the text passage above shows. There are lessons we can glean from how they received from Jesus the Christ. 1. They were instructed, and they obeyed. 2. These disciples received their harvest of a miracle catch while they were on the job. 3. They cast their net. Just like Peter and the other fishermen disciples were, we have to be sensitive to God's instruction and be ready to obey it when it comes. Jesus showed up on the seashore and gave those disciples an instruction when they were not expecting it. God's word can come to you at anytime and at any moment, when it comes what will you do with it? When God's word comes to you, will you discern it? When God's wor...

At Thy Word

Luke 5: 4 - 9 Our text passage shows us the impact of God's word. The word of God can surprise or astonish you with the results it produces. It has been commonly said in Christian circles that  "one word from God can change your life forever"  This is a very true saying. A very acceptable saying. The words of Jesus Christ are the words of God. At the word of Jesus, the supernatural happens. At the word of Jesus, mighty things  happen. At the word of Jesus, wonders happen. At the word of Jesus, miracles occur. Peter needed a harvest, he needed a breakthrough, he needed results. He had worked for it, he had toiled, he had done what he knew to do, after all Peter was an experienced fisherman. Despite Peter's experience and hard work, Peter didn't have the breakthrough he sought on the job. Many people are like Peter in a sense. They are good and experienced at what they do. They have put in the work, they have followed the rules, they got the education, the qualific...

The Elevated Life

Ephesians 2:4-6 The heavenly realms is the realm where the believer, the true follower of Jesus Christ is positioned in Christ Jesus. Jesus Christ is highly placed, and we (sons of God) are positioned in Him. Spiritually, sons of God are highly placed. We are placed far above the principalities, powers, rulers of this world, elemental spirits, challenges, setbacks, evil, and bewitchment found in this world. Ephesians 1:19-22 What God has done in His sons (believers/born again people) is a work of power! By the mighty power of God we (sons of God) are spiritually elevated! This elevation is a result of God's love and grace towards us. This spiritual positioning of the saints is the outcome of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The elevated life is the life the believer is called to, as a result of Jesus's resurrection from the dead. Followers of Jesus Christ, sons of God, are not ordinary people. They are sons of God after all. John 1:12,13 A benefit of being aware of our elevat...

God & The Power Of His Might

Ephesians 6:10 Today's text passage above shows us there is strength in the Lord, there is might in the Lord, and there is power in the Lord. God's might is powerful! In the Lord there is might. Power and might is domiciled in the believer. God gives the spirit of might.  The spirit of might is one of the dimensions of the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 11:2 God raises mighty men. 1 Samuel 2:8 The hand of God is mighty. 1 Peter 5:6 The power of God is mighty. Ephesians 6:10 God is our mighty rock, our refuge. Psalm 62:7 God is a mighty warrior. Zephaniah 3:17 The resurrection of Christ is testament to the mightiness of God. It's by power, God's power that the resurrection took place. Philippians 3:10 God is the One who groomed David from being a shepherd boy to becoming a skilled fighter on the battle field, a mighty warrior. Psalm 144:1 God's power was the power at work in Samson. Samson was God's weapon in the form of a one man army through the Spirit of might. Judges 1...

Intention (2)

2 Samuel 7:1-16 Our text passage shows us an insight that brought blessings into King David's life.  King David desired to build a house for God, it was his intention and this pleased God. God honored David's good intention towards God's presence (the ark of the covenant), He did so through David's son- King Solomon. Kind Solomon went on to build what is perhaps the most glorious and expensive temple ever built for the Lord. 1 Kings 6:1-14 It all started with a godly intention, King David's intention. Your intention can also please God. David's intention brought glory to God. God wants to honor your godly intentions as He honored David's intention. Your intention emanates from your heart and gives strength to your imagination. What you intend is what you will most likely imagine. Whatever a people intend, imagine, and work together in unity to achieve will be accomplished. Genesis 11:4-6 Your intention can become your focus, when this focus is given illum...
