Acts 28:1-5
The serpent or snake is symbolic of the devil in most parts of the scripture.
In the garden of Eden Satan appeared as a serpent to talk to and deceive Eve the wife of Adam.
Genesis 3:1-6
The outcome of that conversation and deception is all around us today.
Romans 5:17-19
The Bible is clear about it, Satan the old serpent is not to be tolerated.
Everywhere we see the devil mentioned by Jesus or in relation to Jesus Christ he is either being castaway, rebuked, fought, rejected or trampled upon.
We are to do the same.
To tolerate Satan is to accept an enemy.
To accept your archenemy is to accept deception, destruction, darkness and defeat.
We see an example of what to do with the enemy when he comes against you, you are to shake him off! This is what Apostle Paul did.
Acts 28:5
To shake off the enemy is to resist him.
James 4:7
To shake off the enemy is overcoming him.
Revelation 12:11
To shake off the enemy means you've defeated him. Satan can be and is a defeated foe.
Revelation 12:7-9
To shake off the enemy means you've made him powerless over your life.
John 14:30
To shake off the enemy represents rebuking him.
Matthew 16:23
To shake off the enemy is to reject his offer or temptation.
This is what Eve should have done.
1 Corinthians 10:13
To shake off the enemy requires power.
To shake off the enemy and keep going without dying requires eternal life.
Eternal life was at work in Apostle Paul and that's why he could keep going after the serpents bite.
Paul could shake off the serpent after the serpents bite because God's power was at work in his life.
Luke 10:19
To journey through life effectively as God's representative you need divine power.
To be attacked by the devil and keep going requires strength that is beyond human.
To keep going for God despite the bite of the enemy requires eternal life.
Divine power, supernatural strength, and eternal life is the portion of kingdom people.
Jesus Christ offers all of these.
Shake off the devil today!
