There are similarities between the happenings in the book of Esther and spiritual truths.
In the book of Esther we are shown how earthly kingdoms operate. We see what things were like during the reign of king Ahasuerus (Xerxes) who married the Jewish orphan -Esther.
Ahasuerus was the sole ruler of the Persian empire and grandson of Cyrus the great.
Jesus is the ruler and Lord of the heavenly kingdom and the Son of the Father.
Ahasuerus was powerful and influential.
Jesus Christ is powerful and influential.
Esther 1:1-8, Isaiah 9:7
Ahasuerus had a wife who lost her crown and position, Jesus had a disciple who lost his place and destiny in Jesus's ministry.
Esther 1:19,20 Acts 1:16-20
The Persian empire had princes of the kingdom who accessed the king.
Esther 1:14
The kingdom of God has sons/daughters (princes & princesses) of God who can access the King because of the finished works of Christ.
Hebrews 4:16 John 1:12
The Persian empire's princes had ranks. Esther 1:13,14
The princes of God's kingdom also have ranks among angelic and human princes.
Ephesians 6:12 Romans 13:1
As the wife of Ahasuerus lost her crown, those in the kingdom of King Jesus can also loose their crown if they are not careful. They can loose it to another.
Revelation 3:11 Esther 1:19
As the king of Persia took a wife, so does the king of God's kingdom have a bride - the body of Christ.
Esther 2:16 Revelation 19:6,7
As the enemy of the Jews - Haman, was raised above all the princes in Persia and he sought to destroy the Jews, there are satanic princes raised up and promoted to destroy God's people.
Ephesians 6:12 Esther 3:1
As Mordecai was hated by Haman because Mordecai was different, there are people who will hate you and dislike you because you are living differently, thinking differently, and identifying with God.
Esther 3:6 Mark 13:13
The Persian kingdom is a wealthy kingdom, the kingdom of God is also wealthy and has inexhaustible resources.
