Matthew 6:21-33
We cannot seek first the kingdom of God if we don't place value on God's kingdom and if God's kingdom has not become valuable to us.
Your values are your priority, standards and principles you live by.
Your values are what shows what's important to you.
The values we live by are very important.
The values you hold dear will shape your life and determine the kind of person you will be.
The values you have will determine your actions.
The values formed within us is usually determined by our upbringing and environment.
Every environment has it's own culture and value it passes into its people.
As people from God's kingdom we should be full of kingdom values.
God's kingdom has it's own values, so does Satan's kingdom which is also called the gates of hell.
There is no point praying warfare prayers in the direction of the spiritual location of Satan's kingdom when the values of Satan's kingdom are in the heart of our church members or we ourselves.
If we keep praying warfare prayers against the enemy but the enemy's values are in us, we haven't won against the enemy.
We need to have the culture of God's kingdom which is love, and we need to have God's kingdom values (virtues) formed within us.
If God's kingdom is of no value to you, how will you seek it first?
Your core values will motivate you to do things that become your habits.
Your core values may determine your motivation.
Your motivation will determine your actions.
Your actions will determine your achievements.
Kingdom values will make you-
1)Live a God glorifying life.
2)Choose holiness.
3)Look at things from a Biblical perspective.
4)Search the scriptures.
5)Pray.
6)Appreciate what God appreciates and hate what God hates.
We've been busy fighting outward battles when many of the things we need to fix are within.
We've been busy pointing accusing fingers when many of the values within us have brought us to where we are.
Jesus said we should fix ourselves before accusing another.
Matthew 7:5
He was telling us to get ourselves together before we can be fit to see what's wrong with another.
Let's check the values we live by.
How far have these values got us and where are they taking us to?
Let's embrace kingdom values.
