Understanding The Gift Of Counsel

Isaiah 11:2

The gift of counsel is simply when God's Spirit is speaking through you to advise a person.
God gives advise to people.
God is a God who communicates.
Another name for counsel is advise.

We advise our children, friends, colleagues and family members when necessary.
In the same manner, God gives advise to His people, His church, to His children.
It has always been God's way to work through human beings, so when God wants to advise you He will do it through someone.
It is up to us to be sensitive to God's ways and God's Spirit.

God can use His apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers and evangelists to advise you.
He can also use any of His sons and daughters to advise you.
Wise people go for advise.
No one can give you better advise than God.
1 John 2:20
In life people will need advice.
However we have to be careful whose advise to take, wrong advise can make or break us.
Wrong advise was what destroyed Absalom.
Absalom listened to the advise of Husai the Arkite instead of Ahithopael.
2 Samuel 17:14
It turned out for Absalom and Ahithopael's destruction.

Ahithopael was a powerful man in the days of King David.
He was one of David's right hand men and he had the gift of counsel in abundance.
His gift was so remarkable that whenever he recommended a solution, gave an instruction or advise it was like consulting an oracle.
It was as if God Himself was advising a person.
This was how powerful Ahithopael's gift is. 2 Samuel 16:23
His gift of counsel was what made him a right hand man of the King and put him in David's inner circle.

Counselling is one of the ways we bring solutions to the issues of the world.
Counselling or advising answers to wisdom, understanding and knowledge.
You have to have knowledge to know which information to share.
You have to have an understanding of the situation the person you are counselling is in to give good advise.
And you have to be wise to analyse the situation well and know how to give the advise.

I wouldn't advise a church to open a counselling department without proven men who have wisdom, understanding and knowledge.
Counselling is not an easy thing to do.
To be a good counsellor you will have to have the gift of counsel.
Counselling people can be tricky.
It can be tricky because life can have it's twists and turns and the situation people are in is not always what it looks like.
People's situation are not always straight forward.
A good Christian counsellor must be connected to the Father's heart.

There's a difference between a 'professional' counsellor who is trained but not anointed, who has book knowledge but doesn't have the grace to help you solve your issues.
A professional counsellor will charge you for his or her service even if your challenge is not solved.
An anointed counsellor is a man or woman who is graced by heaven and has the dimension of God's inspiration and counsel in him or her to instruct and counsel other people.

Not everyone is wise enough to counsel us.
Don't try and solve problems too deep for you, if you don't have the solution.
Don't worsen people's condition if you don't have the answer.
We should have the humility to say or admit an issue is beyond us.
There are illegitimate  counsellors about today.

It's God's will that all His children can counsel because we have access to His Spirit.

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. Car drivers either buy a GPS/Navigation device system or
