A Different Kind Of Prayer!

1 Kings 18:41-19:8

A different kind of prayer will generate a different kind of result. 1 Chronicles. 4:10
Many people pray but unfortunately not everyone's prayer generates results. Daniel 10:12

Not everyone experiences the manifestation of their request in prayer. James 4:3

We have about 8 billion people on the face of the earth, a large majority of the 8 billion are of one faith or the other.
But how many people of the 8 billion who are of a faith or the other are genuinely getting remarkable results in prayer?
This is a call for a different kind of prayer.

The Bible has examples of people who prayed differently from other people in their generation and got remarkable results doing so.

Some example are:

1) Jesus Christ - passionate praying. Luke 22:39-46.He avoided distractions when praying.
Matthew 6:6

2) Hannah - she asked for what was beyond her and her heart was connected in prayer.
1 Samuel 1:11

3) Elijah - persistence. 1Kings 18:41

4) Hezekiah - he turned to the right source in prayer. 2 Kings 19:14-19

5) Jabeez - dares to ask for God's turn around and blessing. 1 Chronicles 4:10

What makes a prayer different?

a) Passion - Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. (Luke 22)

b) Focus - Jesus taught us to avoid distractions when we pray. (Matthew 6:6)

c) Ask For Things beyond you - Think big, ask big. It may have been eluding you but God can give it to you. (1 Samuel 11 vs 11)

d) Use the name of Jesus - The name of Jesus brings answered prayers. Answered prayers give us joy. (John 16:24)

e) Persistence - Daniel got his request because of his persistence. (Daniel 10:2)

f) Spiritual knowledge - Praying according to God's Word is powerful. (Isaiah 55:11)

g) Believe & have Faith - like Elijah, believe God will do the unusual. Faith makes you persist like Elijah.

h) Heart Connection -like Hannah, let your heart be connected when you're praying. God doesn't just listen to the words of our lips, He reads the word of our hearts when we pray. 1 Samuel 1:9-17

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. Car drivers either buy a GPS/Navigation device system or
