Prayer & Action

James 2:14-24

The scripture above shows us wishing, hoping, and extending good thoughts will not always be enough. We have to take steps to make things happen.
Many Christians pray and God is always faithful to answer.
Where many Christians fall short is in the area of backing up their faith with works (action).
There is usually an instruction, a direction or inspiration God expects us to act on. When we don't know it or act on it we can miss out on blessings.
Deuteronomy 28:1

God blessed Adam and dominion was part of the package he received from the Lord.
Genesis 1:26
God expected him to use his dominion.
Adam used to talk to God but using His God given dominion was his own action to take.
God also expected Adam to work not just talk to God alone.
Genesis 2:15

There are things God has given us which God expects us to use - talents, abilities, opportunities, and gifts. Pray about them and take action with them.
When we pray let's stay sensitive to God's instruction for us. When we get His instruction let us act on it.
Acting on what God has instructed, directed, or inspired us to do  brings good rewards.
When we prayerfully read God's scriptures let us act on what the scriptures instruct us.
Joshua 1:8
We see people in scripture who received instructions they are to act on after prayer:

1) King David - David was instructed by God to pursue his enemies (action) and recover all that was taken from him and his men after he prayed.
1 Samuel 30:8

2) King Asa - prayed to God to help him and his army in battle, but he had to show up at the battle field to fight the battle (action) and God struck down his enemies.

3) Joshua - along with the children of Israel were in battle and Joshua prayed because they needed more time to defeat their enemy, the Amorites. God answered this prayer but Joshua and the Israelites still needed to fight the battle (action) to win.
Joshua 10:12-14

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. Car drivers either buy a GPS/Navigation device system or
