STAND YOUR GROUND!

2 Samuel 23:8-12

You are a warrior in the army of God's kingdom if you have made Jesus Christ your Lord and saviour.
2 Timothy 2:3-5
The mighty men of David we read about in the text passage above are a classic example of what warriors should be like.
There are many things we can learn from them.

1) They were loyal to their king - king David.
Just as we should be loyal to our king - Jesus Christ.
Luke 9:62

2) They were powerful, valiant and courageous warriors who killed giants, defeated Philistine armies and went all out for their nation/kingdom.
In the same manner we should be powerful, valiant, and courageous sons and daughters of God who go all out for the kingdom of God.

Like Jesus let's go about God's kingdom.
Matthew 9:35
David was a prosperous king, a master warrior himself and he had a great army.
Among David's army 37 warriors stood out.
And among these 37 warriors, 3 stood out.

3) What we see with these 3 outstanding warriors of David is that they stood their ground.
Their names were Josheb-Basshebeth, Eleazar, and Shammah.
If you are going to be outstanding this year you have to stand your ground for God.
Ephesians 6:13

Which areas are we supposed to stand our ground?
a. Stand your ground for Jesus Christ - for His teachings, your love for Him, and His promises.
b. Stand your ground for God's kingdom - for your belief in God's kingdom, your place and reward in God's kingdom and the values of the kingdom.
c. Stand your ground for what God has given you - your health, your gifts and talents, your children, your spouse, your money, your business, job, career, academics and your life.
d. Stand your ground against the kingdom of darkness - fallen angels, demons, unclean spirits, familiar spirits, wizards and witches.
e. Stand your ground against the works of Satan - voodoo, witchcraft, sorcery, health afflictions, financial loss, manipulation and oppression.
f. Stand your ground against your flesh - our flesh is the biggest hindrance to our serving God. Our flesh is the realm where the devil is able to reach many of us.
Our flesh is the major cause of many of our sins.
Our flesh is usually our weakest link.

How do we stand our ground?
BY GOD'S SPIRIT: Isaiah 59:19, Romans 8:13
RESIST THE DEVIL: James 4:7, Luke 10:19
USE THE WORD OF GOD: Ephesians 6:17, Matthew 4:1-11

Your Father Hears

Matthew 6:5,6 Prayer should be directed to the Father. Jesus showed this when He taught His disciples the Lord's prayer. It should be a great comfort to you to know that the creator and God of all hears you when you pray. This should encourage you to pray and keep praying. In our day to day relationships with people our communication will reduce towards those who don't pay attention when we're talking to them. The good thing about God is that He is never distracted. Know you have His attention when you pray . He can be communicated with. He hears, He created the ears. Psalm 94:9 Jesus encouraged prayer. Matthew 26:40 Jesus taught prayer. Luke 11:1,2 If Jesus prayed, you will need to pray. Why Should You Pray? *Pray because prayer brings God's intervention. Isaiah 38:5,6 *Pray because that's how you are authorized to communicate with God. 1 Thessalonians 15:16-18 *Pray because it is a major way of birthing God's will on earth. 1 Kings 18

Navigating A New Year

Isaiah  42:16 Our text passage above shows us God is the one who shows us the path to take and leads us in new directions. Your path matters to God. The way you you choose to take is important to God. Your steps are seen by God and ordered by God. Psalm 37:23 The year ahead of you matters to God too. Luke 13:8-9 Each year God has given you the grace to witness, experience, and journey through is another opportunity to be fruitful for God. God wants you to make the most of the year ahead of you to His glory. Human beings do not always know the way and path to go, we can be limited in wisdom. History shows we do not always make the best choices. The year ahead of us will require knowing the way to go, having the wisdom to make the best decisions and choices. Deuteronomy 30:19 To successfully navigate the year we need to stay in God.. To navigate is to find your way through, it is following the right path to a specific destination. The Importance Of The Anointing

Acts 10:38 The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit with a person. The anointing speaks, the anointing directs, and the anointing teaches people what they need to know and do. 1 John 2:27 You need the anointing. You can grow in the anointing. It is also possible to depart from the anointing. The anointing won't depart from you but you can depart from the anointing. You should remain in Him. It is worth it investing time to understand the your anointing, growing in your anointing and obeying the anointing. As you get to know a person better by spending time with them, so it is with the anointing in your life. With the anointing, you can't go wrong. The anointing strategically positions you in God's kingdom and in life. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:9 Jesus had the anointing when He was here on earth. Jesus is our example of what our life can be when we have the anointing. Hebrews 12:2 Jesus knew His purpose. Luke 2:49 Jesus
