Prayer & Curses.

Genesis 3:14,17 Prayer and curses both have something in common. They are both released by words. They both come from the heart. A person who is cursing another wants evil to befall that person he/she is cursing. The curse is coming from the heart. Luke 6:45 A person cursing another, doesn't have a right heart towards the person he's cursing. Prayer and curses proceed from the heart and are released by words. Effective prayer must have a heart connection. If a curse comes from the heart and is released by words, and prayer works that way to, then prayer can neutralize curses, particularly because prayer involves God. God can also curse. The first curse was uttered by God. (Read the whole of Genesis 3) God is merciful. We can commune with God, negotiate with God and appease God through prayer which can make Him remove curses from our lives. In the place of prayer, we encounter God's presence which destroys curses. A curse from God is one of the ways God p

The Blood, The Life, The Choice.

Hebrews 9: 11-15 The blood of Jesus is powerful. The life Jesus offers us is powerful. The choice we make to give our lives to Jesus and accept His life is a powerful one. The blood of Jesus brings us into the covenant. Hebrews 13:20,21 Everything about Jesus Christ is wrapped in power, divine power. Matthew 28:18 It's that divine, kingdom power that births the unusual, the miraculous. Colossians 1:16 Your blood is so important. Your blood is your life. Leviticus 17:14, Leviticus 17:11 How healthy your blood is will determine how healthy you will be as a person. There is power in the blood of Jesus Christ. The power that determined the quality of life Jesus had on earth is in His blood. That blood is available to you today. The Spirit of God is in the blood of Jesus. The Spirit of God works with the blood of Jesus Christ. The Spirit of God agrees with the blood. 1 John 5:8 The Spirit of God is a powerful Spirit. So when we make the choice to partake of the blo

Prayer And The Holy Spirit

Romans 8:26 The Holy Spirit is God in us. John 14:23 He is God living through us in Spirit form. 1 Corinthians 3:16 The Holy Spirit is the presence of God upon us and within us who works through us. Romans 15:19 The Holy Spirit is the one responsible for godly and genuine signs, wonders and miracles. The Holy Spirit brings authority, dignity, power and redemption to God's chosen people. The Holy Spirit is evidence we are saved. Ephesians 1:13 People do not always know how to pray. People do not automatically become diligent in the place of prayer, our 'flesh' is weak. It's the Holy Spirit who helps us. John 14:26 The Holy Spirit gives us victory over the flesh and empowers our prayer life. Romans 8:13 The Holy Spirit seeks to work with us, in us and through us. One of the ways the Holy Spirit works with us is by praying through us. The Holy Spirit should be the one inspiring the prayers you pray. The Holy Spirit is God praying through you when you pray u

Understanding The Gift Of Counsel

Isaiah 11:2 The gift of counsel is simply when God's Spirit is speaking through you to advise a person. God gives advise to people. God is a God who communicates. Another name for counsel is advise. We advise our children, friends, colleagues and family members when necessary. In the same manner, God gives advise to His people, His church, to His children. It has always been God's way to work through human beings, so when God wants to advise you He will do it through someone. It is up to us to be sensitive to God's ways and God's Spirit. God can use His apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers and evangelists to advise you. He can also use any of His sons and daughters to advise you. Wise people go for advise. No one can give you better advise than God. 1 John 2:20 In life people will need advice. However we have to be careful whose advise to take, wrong advise can make or break us. Wrong advise was what destroyed Absalom. Absalom listened to the advise

Spiritual Maturity

In the physical dimension there are benefits and entitlements an adult has that a child does not enjoy. There are places an adult can go to and things an adult can do. There are opportunities, advantages, and rewards in this world that are for adults not for children. It is the same way in the spirit realm. Galatians 4:1 Hebrews 5:14 The Bible encourages us to grow spiritually. Ephesians 4:15 It is God's will that we become spiritually mature so that we come into our inheritance. Spiritual maturity means you are overcoming the evil one. 1 John 2:14 There are some great and good things God has for us but we don't receive them until we are mature enough to handle them. Galatians 4:3-7 It is to our advantage and benefit to come to spiritual maturity. Hebrews 5:13 We are of greater use to God  when we are grown spiritually. Hebrews 5:12 The greatness of Jesus, our perfect example, had to do with His spiritual development not his human age when he was on earth. Jesus

Prayer And Fruitfulness

John 15:7-8 It's God's will that we are fruitful. To be fruitful we have to be productive. Being fruitful means you are producing. You have to be productive to be fruitful. Fruitfulness refers to your results. Our fruitfulness as God's people is connected to our connection to Jesus Christ. Prayer helps us stay connected to God. John 15:5 That connection brings fruitfulness and results. Fruitfulness is part of God's blessing. Genesis 1:28 Part of the purpose of prayer is to bring results. If we don't believe God will answer our prayers we won't pray. When God gives you what you asked for in prayer you can say that prayer brought results. John 14:13 So prayer brings fruitfulness. Prayer brings spiritual, material, moral and even career and financial results. Daniel was a man given to prayer and purity. Morally he was fruitful. Daniel 6:4 Materially he was fruitful. Daniel 2:48 Spiritually he was fruitful. Daniel 1:17 His career and finances also had results/fruit

TAKE DOWN YOUR GIANTS.

Mark 11:22-24 There are 'giants' in today's world limiting people, challenging people, disturbing people, and hindering people. David faced and killed Goliath. 1 Samuel 17 The mighty men of David also became 'giant' killers. 1 Chronicles 20:5, 2 Samuel 21:19 Your 'giant' can also be referred to as your 'mountain'. Zechariah 4:7 Your 'giant' or 'mountain' is not meant to defeat you, it's meant to be levelled before you. Your 'giant' or 'mountain' is meant to be overcome for your promotion to happen. Your 'giant' is meant to be your key to your next level. Your 'giant' comes before your promise land. For the children of Israel, the wall of Jericho was a 'giant'. Your giant appears before your breakthrough. Your 'giant' is evidence God's promise is about to be fulfilled in your life. Your 'giant' is also your tribulation and trial. Acts 14:22 The Kingdom of G

Prayer And Understanding

James 4:3 You can't fully please God without fully understanding what He expects from you. You can't be the best you can be without an understanding of who you are and what God has given you. You won't pray right without understanding how to pray. There is a way to pray. Jesus didn't condemn or rebuke His disciples when they asked Him to teach them to pray. Prayer is taught. There is an understanding of prayer we need to have. We need to understand the principles that govern prayer. Luke 11:2 Understanding will make a difference in the quality of people's life. This is something the Apostle Paul understood. Understanding is a quality the apostle Paul prayed that Ephesians will have Ephesians 1:18 It is a quality we should all ask for. Proverbs 4:7 Understanding is rated closely to wisdom in importance. Jesus is the giver of good understanding. God can and is willing to answer our prayer for good understanding. Daniel 9:22 You need an understanding o
