DAVID, AN EXAMPLE OF FAITH (transcript)

Text : 1 Samuel 17 In these times we live in, it is only true faith that will see us through, faith that has it's foundation in God's Word; faith that is inspired by God and sees things from God's perspective. This is the kind of faith David the shepherd boy had that made him overcome Goliath, a faith rooted in godly knowledge. 1 Samuel 17:26 David's faith could see, David's faith had a perspective. David, unlike King Saul and his men could see his superiority over Goliath. He saw himself as a carrier of God's covenant by circumcision which was an instruction God gave to Abraham. David understood his spiritual history, he knew that he was from the nation God had chosen and that Goliath is from the uncircumcised enemy nation God is against. David knew it's the man God is with that wins in life. David used all this knowledge to his advantage. Do you see your own advantage over your enemies? Your enemies are anything standing against your inher

THE WAY OF THE SPIRITUAL WARRIOR

There is a path every spiritual warrior is on. There is a way every spiritual warrior operates. Every true son/daughter of God is a spiritual warrior. In other words, every christian is a warrior. The Bible makes it clear that we have a fight of faith on our hands. 1 Timothy 6:12 The way of every true spiritual warrior is the way of FAITH. 1 John 5:4 We call the use and application of our faith on this earth a 'fight', the reason it's a fight is because there are many things that will contest with and try to defy your faith on this earth. That's why you have to contend for true faith. Jude 1:3 To contend means to struggle to surmount, to assert something as a position in an argument. So in life the true spiritual warrior is the one who contests and rejects things that will try to overcome his faith. The path of spiritual warriors is the path of wisdom and prayer. First of all wisdom because it is the most important thing. Proverbs 4:7 Then prayer

THE NEED FOR DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS. (transcript)

Text : John 16:14,15 The Bible reveals to us that there are general instructions for all Christians, for the body of Christ; and there are individual instructions for each individual that is more detailed and unique to the individual the instruction is for. All human beings may have similarities, especially from a physical perspective but we are all unique and different from one another genetically, in personality, in opinion, perspective and upbringing. God knows this, He knows because He created us and appreciates diversity and variety.  Due to this difference from one person to another, God has instructions for us that is different for each person. The instruction God had for Samson is different from the instruction He had for Abraham, the instruction of God for Abraham is different from that of King David, Gideon the warrior and judge's instructions is different to Jacob's who became Israel. Do you know God's instruction for your life?  If you don't, you nee

UNDERSTANDING THE GLORY OF GOD. (transcript)

Text : Revelation 19:1, Deuteronomy 5:24, Psalm 104:1 Everything you need is found in the glory of God! Glory is one of the many attributes of God. God is a glorious God, He is a glorious being and a glorious Spirit. God's glory is found in His Kingdom. God's throne is glorious, His presence is glorious, His Words are glorious, His creation is glorious.  His mind is glorious, His power, His creativity and His greatness are all glorious. God's glory is on everything He's created. There is a portion and degree of God's glory on everything He's made. Since you are created in God's image and likeness, everything you do- the work of your hands should reflect glory and excellence. Excellence is an aspect of glory. Human beings need the glory of God, we were not originally created without God's glory.  Man was originally created with glory and for glory. Genesis 3:11 Glory makes you look like God. Lights of glory, pleasures of beauty emana

WONDERS IN GOD'S WORD

Text : Psalm 119:18 There are wonderful things in God's Word but you need God to open your eyes to see them. The promises of God are wonderful. The instructions in God's Word produce wonders. The edification, inspiration and motivation we receive from God's Word are wonderful. Your identity, when discovered in the light of God's Word is a wonderful one. The light, the power, the Kingdom, the Spirit and the lifestyle we are exposed to in the Word of God are all glorious and wonderful. Our Lord Jesus is the Word, and one of His names is wonderful. Isaiah 9:6 The Word wonder means to be filled with admiration, amazement, or awe. It means to marvel at something. It means to be pleasantly surprised by something that is beyond your expectation or imagination. So there are things beyond your imagination in God's Word, 1 Corinthians 2:9 proves this. The things God has prepared for those who love Him is their inheritance, and your inheritance is explained to yo

FIGHT THE FIGHT (Transcript)

There is warfare in life because enemies are real.  Ephesians 6:12 Though evil spirit forces use human beings, our real enemies are the spirits behind those human beings who constitute themselves your enemies. The enemy, Satan is real.  Luke 10:17-20 Human enemies, agents of Satan, those who have sold themselves over to the dark side are  real.  Just as God has people he recruits into His service in various capacities, so does the enemy. Just as God has people in spiritual offices (the 5 fold office of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers and Pastors) for the purpose of His Kingdom on earth, so does does the enemy have people he recruits into various spiritual offices for the service of his kingdom, the dark side.  Such people are warlocks, wizards, witches, sorcerers, necromansers, satanic priests, voodoo priests, false prophets and  head of occult groups e.t.c Not everyone likes you. Everyone can't like you, if Jesus Christ who is the most perfect man who ever lived

POWER IN THE SECRET PLACE

Text : Psalm 91:1, Luke 10:19 What is the secret place Psalm 91:1 is talking about? The secret place is the place of God's presence, it's where God dwells, it is a spiritual place, a place of security, protection and power. It is the most holy place and inner court of God's presence. It is entered into by prayer in the name of Jesus and by the blood of Jesus. The name of Jesus triggers access into God's presence when we pray while the blood of Jesus gives us the right into God's presence. Romans 3:25,26 It is the man or woman who has power that the world will respect. Luke 4:35,36 People respond to power, whether diabloic power or godly power. Everything in life responds to power, from wealth to demons, from nature to spirits, from our destinies to our bodies, careers or ministries. That's why God in His mercy has made a provision of power for us through His Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8 There are different types of power : 1) RELIGIOUS POWER 2) MORAL POWER

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF GOD'S WORD. (transcript)

The word significance refers to the quality of being important. The qualities that make a thing important. So we will be looking at what makes the Word of God important, we will look into the importance of God's Word to you as an individual and to the entire church assembly. What makes God's Wordimportant is the benefits loaded in God'sWord. God's Word has many benefitsto you and I. So it's important to know what God's Word is. What is God's Word? God's Word is God's wisdom to us. Proverbs 2:6 God's Word is a person. John 1:2,3 The Word of God is Spirit! John 6:63 The Bible without the Spirit of God is not God's Word. 2 Corinthians 3:6 Jesus is God's Word and we need Jesus to see Jesus in the Bible, we need the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus to us from the Bible. The Holy Spirit is the one who makes the Word of God-Jesus, come alive to us from  the pages of the Bible. God's Word is as good as God. John 1:1 God's Word is

PRINCIPLES OF ANSWERED PRAYERS.

The God we serve in not a respecter of person but He is a respecter of principles. Acts 10:34 There are principles that govern prayer. There are things we need to know about prayer that when followed or used during prayer can get us an audience with God. Since God is not a respecter of persons, it means the Kingdom of God is a level playing ground for the saints of God. When we come into God's Kingdom we all stand an equal chance to  come into His inner circle of friends and sons. So the responsibility is on us. God is ready to draw nigh to as many as draw close to Him. James 4:8 The access to the Father's presence is open to all. Jesus has paid the price for that, so you can also have an assurance of answered prayer. Matthew 27:51 In God's Kingdom we all have a right to be close to God but not every son and daughter of God takes advantage of the opportunity. Jesus chose 12 disciples but only 3 disciples out of 12 were permitted to experience the transfiguration o

THE KEYS OF THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

Matthew 16:19 Keys of the Kingdom of heaven  can be used to unlock ANY closed door here on earth. The reason it can do this is because thekey of the kingdom of heaven is a spiritual key and the spirit controls the physical. A key is used to open doors. Keys of the Kingdom of heaven are spiritual keys from the kingdom of God used to open spiritual and earthly doors. These keys can be insights, secrets, or knowledge that gives ability or confers spiritual authroity. These keys apply to every area of your life and that's why the Bible says WHATEVER you use it for here on earth, heaven recognises it. A short edification shared during our mid week prayer service by Olutosin Ogunkolade, a Teacher Pastor.

MANIFESTING YOUR PROPHECY

1 Timothy 1:8 Prayer is an essential part of manifestation from the Spirit realm to the physical realm. Manifesting is expected of every child of God. Manifestation refers to an elevation, a promotion and complete change and turn around that moves a child of God to a place of improvement and growth. Romans 8:19 For your prophecy, dreams and visions to manifest, you have to pray. Every saint of God who turned out right with God and manifested his dream had a prayer had a prayer life and relationship with God. Elijah manifested through prayer- 1 King 18:36 A short edification shared during the church's mid week prayer meeting by Olutosin Ogunkolade, a Teacher Pastor.

Pray Until Something Happens! (P.U.S.H)

Elijah was a man of like passions as we are but he knew and he understood the potency of prayer. Elijah was a man like you and I who performed wonders through the instrument of prayer. You can do the same. James 5:17 We are of a better covenant than Elijah and we are entitled to wonders happening when we pray just like Elijah experienced wonders. Hebrews 8:6 Through the shed blood of Christ and the resurrection of Jesus, we can make things happen trough prayer. Because of the sacrifice of Jesus we have an audience with God the Father when we pray, so we should always expect answers to our prayers when we commune with God. God's love for us is another reason we knowHe will give us attention and hear us. Matthew 7:8-11 Psalm 86:15 Romans 8:32 what is our own responsibility to ensure our prayer is answered? A) Be Persistent or Pray  Until Something Happens 1 Chronicles 16:11 Luke 18:1-8 Luke 11:5-10 Ephesians 6:18 Romans 12:12 1 Kings 18:36-11 B) Make sure your

SATAN'S DEVICES

The devil is a skilled master of deception and liar who seeks to kill, steal and destroy by 1) Capitalizing on our weaknesses 2) Using deception on us 3) Taking advantage of our ignorance 4) Using accusation against us. Satan is a trouble maker who started the first battle in heaven and planned the first coup. He wanted to overthrow his maker and he succeeded in winning over and deceiving one third of the angels of God. He is still in the business of pulling down the angels of God but this time it's the 'human angels' he is after. God's human angels are those in the five fold ministry of Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers and evangelists. He seeks to pull down 'stars' of God and he has succeeded against some. The stars in todays age are you and I. Men and women who have given their lives to Christ and have great destinies, these are the stars of God. John 10:10, Titus 3:3, Galatians 3:1 An edification shared at The Light Of Jes

GOD SAVES THE BEST FOR LAST

Everything the Father did is what Jesus would do. Anything the heavenly Father would not do, our Lord Jesus would not do. So to understand the heavenly Father we need to look at Jesus. To understand the principles, the ways and the lifestyle the Father has for us we need to imitate the lifestyle of Jesus. John 5:19 In John 2:1-11 Jesus showed us one of the patterns of the heavenly Father. John 2:9-10 shows us that God saves the best for last. We know God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8, so God has saved the best for you in this last month of the year. Ecclesiastes 7:8 An edification shared at the mid week service of The Light of Jesus Christ Assembly by Olutosin Ogunkolade, a Teacher Pastor.

MASTER OF THE PHYSICAL EVIDENCE

Genesis 37:28-35 Genesis 5:4-19 Galatians 3:1-6 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 Romans 7:9-11 Deuteronomy 11:6 Satan is the master of the physical evidence. Satan is the master of deception. People who live all their lives by the 5 senses can easily be deceived by Satan. Jacob was deceived by Satan for many years of his life. Satan showed Jacob the robe of his son, the blood on Joseph's robe, and Satan also organised 10 witnesses who all witnessed that Joseph was dead but it was not the truth. Physical evidence is not always truthful evidence. As Pharaoh regarded the words and signs of Moses as vain words He wants us to see the Bible as vain, powerless and a waste of time. Exodus 5:9 It is important we know God's Word so that we are not deceived, misled, or wrongly indoctrinated. You can only be deceived in the physical not in the Spirit. We have to be more Spirit minded and led, so as not to be deceived. A message shared at The mid week prayer service of The Light Of J

PRAYER, REVIVAL & THE KINGDOM (transcript)

The Kingdom lifestyle is a prayer lifestyle. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Jesus didn't separate prayer from te Kingdom, rather He included the Kingdom in His prayers. Matthew 6:10 In the Kingdom of God, which we come into when we give our life to Christ, we access the things that are for us through prayer. Whether it is prophecies, promises, spiritual and material blessings, we need the power prayer generates to release them. James 5:16 The Kingdom is God's will for us, and prayer is God's will for us, so it goes to show that prayer and the kingdom go together and work together. A Kingdom man or woman is an individual who is in the faith and who prays. Jesus is our role model, the number one man of the Kingdom and he prayed a lot. If Jesus prayed a lot, we will have to pray a lot to. Revival on the other hand is the Holy Spirit moving over an individual, a family, a church/ministry, a nation or a continent to do something great or new or spearhead a movement to God's

FAITH & WORKS

Text : James 2:14-26 There is a great difference between having faith and having a belief. Believing a thing doesn't necessarily result in having faith in that thing. You can believe in a thing, and not necessarily take any action on what you believe, but you can't have faith and not do someting about what you believe. Believing is good but faith is better There are times believing is not enough. There are some issues of life that will require more than your belief for things to happen. Many believe in God but few truly have faith in God. Our Lord Jesus made it clear that it was not enough to believe in God but we have to have faith in God. Faith is a step ahead of belief. James 2:19 Believing does not always lead to action, but faith is an action. Our text shows us that true faith will be accompanied by works. Your works refer to your action. God expects us to move from a mere believing in His Word to faith in His Word which means to act on His Word. The blessing

THE FAITH WALK.

Faith is a journey not a destination. The faith walk is a lifetime walk that God expects His children to go on, which will require the investment of your time, focus, energy and study. Walking in faith is not for the lazy, walking in faith is not for the fearful, to walk the faith walk, it will require patience and courage. You cannot separate faith from patience. To receive from God, you need a combination of both faith and patience.  Hebrews 6:12 There is a plan God has for your life, there are precious promises God has made to you so that you may live a good life, a blessed life and a godly life but it takes walking with God in faith to receive them. The God we serve is a miraculous God who loves family and relationship. Answers to prayer, receiving of miracles, healing and deliverance are results of our relationship with God.  A true relationship with God is where our faith walk starts. As we walk with God, our faith grows and we learn patience, once our faith and patience

THE EYES OF FAITH (Transcript)

Text : Ephesians 1:18 Faith has eyes. Bible faith 'sees'. It is based on understanding. True faith sees in the lightof God's Word. The ability to deeply understand the scriptures is what it means to see in the light of God's Word. When we begin to understand the Bible to the point of having mentalpictures that are clear and well defined of what we read and meditate on, we are then getting to the place of understanding. You cannot separate understanding from the eyes of faith, they go together. There is a principle in God's Kingdom that 'what you see by faith is what you get'. Genesis 15:5 That's why using and understanding the eyes of your faith is important. We cannot separate the eyes of our faith, understanding wich is also called intelligence from  our heart. This is why the state of our heart is so important. Understanding is the eyes of faith. Understanding is of the heart. And out of the heart comes the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23 O

UNDERSTANDING THE MYSTERIES OF GOD'S KINGDOM (transcript)

Text : John 3:1-3 We see from part of Jesus's communication with Nicodemus a teacher of the law, a Pharisee that there are revelations that are deep and which are heavenly, they are revelations, truths, insights and secrets that proceed from God, because they are heavenly and from God they are coming from the Kingdom of heaven to the earthly realm. There are many deep revelations from the Kingdom of heaven that can benefit us as individuals, as a church and as a nation. There are things we will never know about, mysteries, truths and insights from God's Kingdom in heaven until the appointed time, when the world as we know it comes to an end. Acts 1:7, Matthew 24:36 And there are other mystries, truths and insights we are privileged by God to know because God's Spirit chooses to reveal them. Jeremiah 33:3, Matthew 24:36 And there are other mystries, truths and insights we are privileged by God to know because God's Spirit chooses to reveal them. Jeremiah 33:3, Jo

FAITH: THE POWER AT WORK IN YOU

Text : Hebrews 6:5 There is a power at work in you.  It is a power that is alien to this world because it is not of this world. It is a power that is effective and exclusively for God's sons and daughters. That power is your faith and it makes all things possible to you. Ephesians 3:20 Faith is not of this world, it is from God's Kingdom.  Hebrews 12:2, John 17:16, Romans 3:22, Colossians 1:13 Faith is part of God's plan and God's design for His children not to be limited. Faith is a quality of heaven, a quality and virtue in God, put in mortal man. This is why faith is precious. 2 Peter 1:1 Faith is part of your treasure in earthen vessels.  2 Corinthians 4:7 Faith can be strange to common sense because it's not common, faith can seem ridiculous to logic and reason because it is of the Spirit not the flesh. Faith operates beyond the five senses of sight, smell, touch, hearing and taste.  Hebrews 11:1 Faith is highly misunderstood. Faith is not hope, ho

ADVANCING THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Texts : Matthew 9:35, Matthew 24:13 & 14, Mark 1:14 God will never come down to do for human beings what human beings should do for themselves. God can inspire you to pray but God will not take your prayers for you. God will instruct and encourage you to study His Word but God will not come down from heaven and study your Bible for you. God can give wisdom and direction to a student but God will not enter the examination hall to write that students exams. God can show a man who to marry, but God will not do the proposing on the man's behalf, that's the man's own responsibility and assignment. Acts 17:28 There are things God expects of us. There are assignments and responsibilities God has for us here on earth which God will never carry out for us.  1 Corinthians 7:17 God expects us to study His Word, to find out His heart and mind and align ourselves to His will, His intentions and His priorities. 2 Timothy 2:15 The study of God's Word shows us His Kin

PRAYER & MEDITATION (transcript)

Text:  Psalm 46:10 Meditation is not prayer. Prayer is not meditation. Prayer is a popular lifestyle and habit in the body of Christ, and prayer is very important because it is the major way we communicate with God, and the Bible which is God's Word and our manual for living instructs us and commands us to pray. Luke 18:1 Many people mistake meditation for prayer. In the same way believing is not faith, and hope is not belief. Faith meditation is quiet distinct from prayer. The Bible encourages meditation. Joshua 1:8 Just like prayer, meditation is also powerful and brings great results into the life of the individual who practices it. The word meditation has been wrongly understood in the body of Christ today, most people associate meditating with some eastern, oriental mystical practice, but meditation is actually a lost 'art' given to the body of Christ which we haven't made good use of. Meditation is one of the lost keys of the church and a necessary part
